Description

Rose Barn offers ground floor facilities with wheelchair access, and is an ideal base for exploring the area.

Close to Anderby Creek

Set within the peaceful orchard gardens of the old Priory Farm in Anderby’s nature preservation area, in the Coastal Park, these exceptionally lovely cottages Wisteria Cottage (ref E5094), Rose Barn (ref E5095) and Clematis Cottage (ref E5096), share a pretty courtyard whilst each enjoying its own enclosed private garden and patio with hot tub. The luxuriously appointed cottage interiors are fresh and contemporary and the welcoming owner’s talent in garden design is evident in the aromatic herbs and gorgeous planting gracing the beautiful patio areas. Cycle loan is available to visitors for exploring the coastline – the coastal path runs both north and south and locally many waymarked footpaths invite walkers. Just 1.5 miles away is the glorious beach at Anderby Creek, which now boasts a new ‘cloud interpretation platform’ and bird hide as well as superb sands, a licensed beach cafe, seasonal shop and pub. (Dogs are welcome on part of the beach all year round although prohibited in the main bathing area in summer). Golf, coarse and sea fishing and horse riding are all enjoyed nearby. The East Coast’s diverse delights include fantastic beaches, seal havens, with breeding seals on the sands at Donna Nook in November, bird sanctuaries and of course the traditional seaside fun, restaurants and takeaways at Chapel St Leonards, 3½ miles, and Skegness, 9 miles, home of Fantasy Island theme park. The market town of Alford’s famous windmill is 4 miles, the city of Lincoln’s medieval centre and vibrant waterfront are an easy drive, and the area’s aviation museums are always popular.
The cottages can be booked together to accommodate up to 14 guests.

We loved the cottage. We were made very welcome by Peter and Alistair - some lovely touches included dog treats, sweets and shower gel. The views from the garden are lovely - saw some amazing sunsets. The cottage is spacious, yet homely too.

A fantastic weekend and wonderful way to spend my 30th birthday. Lovely cottage, tastefully decorated, very comfortable and loved the hot tub. Secluded, romantic and peaceful. Friendly and hospitable owners. Beautiful views and surrounding areas with various wildlife. Anderby creek is just a walk away and is worth visiting and completely different from the bustle of Skegness and ingoldmells which is also just a bus ride or short drive away. We enjoyed an evening playing pool and enjoying the sun at a pub in the next village over which was within walking distance. We borrowed bikes and enjoyed riding around the nearby area. Highly recommend Rose Barn. We will definitely be back.

Rose Barn at Priory Garden Cottages. The cottage was well equipped and very cosy, the gardens are beautiful and the hot tub was very relaxing, warm and well maintained. Peter and Alistair are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble. A truly lovely place to stay.

On arrival the cottage needed a good clean, the bathroom wasn't clean and behind the toilet and sink were dirty. The inside of the fridge and microwave both needed cleaning before we could use them. We cleaned what needed cleaning and in fairness we didn't complain about this to the owners as they seemed to be nice people but they do need to check the standard of cleanliness. We had problems with the heating system for all but a couple of days of our stay which wasn't good as we were travelling with our 15 month old and a 6 year old grandchildren. We reported this to the owners on quite a few occasions - they got a plumber to check it and initially supplied us with an oil filled radiator, followed by a 2nd radiator a couple of days later as the heating timer and thermostat still weren't working, despite one of the owners making adjustments to it a number of times. There is no wifi - which we did ask the owners about on 2 occasions to be told the first time that it would be better after the weekend and then the second time to go near to their house and connect to the hub and then it would work in the cottage but neither of these instructions allowed us to have internet connection during the whole of our stay. On our departure day I called to see the owners to try and speak to them about all of the problems we'd had with the cottage, but they didn't come to the door. On a positive note the garden and the hot tub are very nice and the cottage is comfortable once it was cleaned to a better standard and when the heating worked properly. There are lovely beaches close by.

We stayed in the Rose Barn Cottage over Christmas 2018, it was a lovely cottage, great location, fantastic hosts, fabulous Hot-tub. The hosts couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome, very knowledagable about the surround areas and things to do.

Not very good to be fair, hot tub cold, no lights working in the hot tub or the cottage to be fair, had far better for the money.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We always welcome feedback and your comments have been passed to our cleaning team as well. As a safety feature, the hot tub automatically turns itself off if the water goes below a certain level which is why the hot tubs are checked every day. This is also to ensure that the water is safe and that they are working correctly and at the right temperature. If you thought it was too cold because of another reason, I would have turned it up if you had asked although 37.5 degrees is the advised operating temperature. The light in the hot tub had failed but we now have a new light. All the bulbs in the cottage worked when we checked them before you arrived and if one blew all you had to do was ask us to replace it. We always ask our customers to come and see us if anything is wrong and it is also in the literature we leave them. We cannot fix any problems if we do not know about them. We are upset that you felt you could only score us three out of ten especially when our other customers have scored us so highly but as I said if you had told us about any issues we would have tried to resolve them.

The location of this cottage was perfect, sea within a short distance. It was so quiet and peaceful and the garden space was great for us and our dog, Ozzie.
