Description

This cottage is close to many outdoor activities, including watersports, fishing and cycling on the Crab and Winkle Way.

Close to the beach, restaurants, quirky shops and art galleries is this stylishly renovated end of terrace holiday cottage with the added bonus of an attractive, enclosed, paved garden; ideal for summer barbecues. It also boasts a wood-burning stove in the living room where you can curl up and relax after a brisk walk down by the harbour in the winter. Try out the watersports on offer including sailing and surfing, take up fishing and don’t forget to sample the local oysters for which Whitstable is renowned. It is also good cycling territory - try The Crab and Winkle Way, experience at first hand the glorious Whitstable sunsets and gaze across The Swale, where time appears to stand still and offers an ideal opportunity to recharge your batteries. Once you have explored the local artists community, daily fish market and tiny lanes previously frequented by smugglers, the historic town of Canterbury, with its breathtaking cathedral and boat trips on the River Stour is well worth a visit. Indoor leisure centre with swimming pool close by. Good rail connections to London. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room. Kitchen. Step up to utility room. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Steep stairs to second floor: 1 double bedroom with sloping ceiling and en-suite shower room with toilet.

The cottage is in a perfect position, close to the beach and the high street, yet far enough back to be quiet. The cottage is beautifully decorated, yet I fear there is a degree of style over substance. The red sofa in the dining room is very uncomfortable and hence we never sat on it after the first go. The chairs in the living room are equally not the most comfortable. The lack of a dishwasher is a real shame, especially if you come with children (which the cottage is otherwise well set up for). I know space is tight but as someone who stays in many cottages this is a real down side. The drainage needs sorting. The fact that the green waste floods the path and then street is embarrassing and unpleasant to walk in.

Fantastic location.Lots of dog-friendly people!Helpful owner when electricity went after using a faulty toaster.Electricity back on after electrician came within an hour.Cosy with fire.Really liked all the artwork.Very tastefully decorated. Wifi worked fine(so kids very happy). Maybe a few extra tea towels would have been handy as no dish washer. My daughter suffered numerous insect bites in front bedroom -although no-one else did in other rooms. No trouble with parking car as we came a week before Easter, and weather was awful!
