Description

Families will love this delightful holiday cottage with the beach just through the garden gate! Enjoy the wildlife, golf and many activities locally.

Discover this delightful, seafront, 200 year old fisherman’s cottage with direct access to the beach and stunning views over the Firth of Forth, Isle of May and Bass Rock. Extensively renovated and immaculately presented, providing spacious, contemporary accommodation with the beach at your back gate! In the Temple area of the pretty seaside conservation village of Lower Largo, it is believed to be the land owned by the Knights of Templar who were brought to Scotland during the 12th century by King David I.
The enclosed garden overlooks the beach, and from your doorstep you can enjoy leisurely walks along the beach, or explore this attractive village and its pretty harbour. This is the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk whose story of his shipwreck off the coast of Chile provided Daniel Defoe with the inspiration to write Robinson Crusoe, and whose statue is in the village. There is a local store, craft shop, local pub and restaurant, sailing club and Lundin Links Golf Club. There is a great selection of golf courses in the area, and the championship courses of St Andrews are only 11 miles away.
You can follow the Fife Coastal Path to pretty fishing villages and sandy beaches and coves, explore Iron Age caves and view wildlife, including a variety of seabirds and colonies of seals. Aside from all this, the Kingdom of Fife is home to some outstanding summer arts festivals, many historic sights and great hill walking.
Whatever you choose to do during your stay you can rest assured that the luxury of Rockvale Cottage awaits your return. Put your feet up and relax in front of the wood-burning stove with a glass of wine in the large, comfortable living room, or step outside and admire this picture postcard setting and watch the sun set over Largo Bay. This is the best cottage I've stayed in and I've been to a fair few. Lower Largo is beautiful too. If there's a downside it is only parking. The garage is there for a small car but mine was too big so I had to park it 500 yards down the road. But the walk to and from it was great. You can get to the cottage to unload the car though so really a small negative. I would recommend the cottage to anyone that loves the sea and wants to see Fife at its best.

Spent many family holidays in Largo and this is a regular, go-to cottage. It has everything you need, a proper home from home. Spotlessly clean, really cosy with stunning views, especially from the balcony. Will definitely be back!

Excellent week . Lucky to have dry weather for 7 days. Cottage superbly equipped and wonderful to have the sea/beach at the end of the garden.

We had a great time in Rockvale cottage. the cottage has everything you could wish for, very well equiped, nice rooms and a stunning sea view with direct access to the beach. The area around lower largo is beautiful and perfect to rewind and refuel. Fiona was a very attentive host, responding very quickly to any questions we had before and checking on us during pour stay. We would come back anytime.

Rockvale is a very comfortable well equipped and well furnished house. The master bedroom with ensuite opens on to balcony overlooking the sea with stunning views. We have visited this cottage four consecutive years and consider it home from home
