Location: 7km from Cahors (shops, restaurant, markets), 15km from Saint-Cirq-Lapopie (historic village, castle), 29km from Carjac (shops, markets, church).

This detached, holiday home has a lovely bright interior and is near the village of Flaujac-Poujols. It has a large garden, a lovely outdoor swimming pool, and great views of the surrounding countryside. Ideally situated for exploring the many hiking trails in the area, and there is even a private oak wood with shady walks for you to enjoy. Cahors is worth a visit both to explore its medieval centre and to enjoy its lively Saturday market. The beautiful village of St Cirq, and the Peche Merle caves are 30 minutes away. This is the perfect location both for those wishing to enjoy a relaxing holiday and those wanting to explore the rich heritage of the area.

    The entire journey to Flaujac-Poujols I had a worry that this place couldn’t possibly be as good as the pictures suggested, not for that price. When we arrived I almost jumped for joy. It’s beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, it’s secluded, it’s clean! You have a rural French country villa that’s rustic and quirky with a touch of luxery. The picture shows a piece of gym equipment that was actually really good. I’m a competitive bodybuilder so a small training session for half hour on holiday was a way to relax. The pool is great The rooms are great and the owners are fantastic. They live next door but leave you well alone unless you need them for something. On the first Sunday we had trouble with the gas bbq, it looked brand new so couldn’t really understand it. They confirmed it was brand new but was over to the villa in minutes on a Sunday to try and remedy it. We couldn’t but 10am the next morning it was returned and working perfect. The local amenities are only a 12 minute drive to a big supermarket that stock everything. In cahor there are bakers, ptsseries, butchers, wine and cheese everywhere. The bigger more advertised restaurants we found nitvthat great but small eateries down side streets were amazing. The area is simply breathtaking. Shops as above shut usually at 12:30 and open again at 2:30 so be mindful of that. The supermarket outside Cahors (careforre) is open 8:30 till 8:30 but closes at 12 on a Sunday. In fact on Sunday the only place you’ll get anything is a small casino express store in Cahors that reopens at 5:30pm for two hours on a Sunday. Ensure you get to the market on a Wednesday in Cahors also if food is your thing, the produce is simply amazing!! The villa riviera surpassed my expectations and set the seen for the best family holiday we have ever had. I’m an early morning person, see the picture below that I took having a coffee as the sun was rising. You just can’t express how you feel looking at that view EVERYDAY!! Would I go back? Ha booking again next month 😂

    Good house in many ways, large and spacious which was great. However, we had a few issues during our stay including a blocked sink, the swimming pool going green and a suspected wasp nest. To be fair to the owners, the property had the feel of having not been stayed in for a while and each of these things could have been a result of that. However, when we tried to contact them we were unable to get through, despite leaving messages. In the event it did not matter hugely for our stay but if we'd been staying longer or the problems had occurred earlier it would have been a shame! I think with a bit if care and attention this could be a great property, the size really was great and the garden space wonderful. Added to that, the owners when we met at the beginning were friendly and kind. Property only needs a few tweaks to be a real winner.
