Perfect riverside holiday accommodation, set on the water’s edge at Brundall

Set on the water’s edge
Ideal touring base

Perfect riverside holiday accommodation, set on the water’s edge at Brundall. These delightful detached holiday chalets are comfortably furnished throughout with well-equipped, fitted kitchens. Overlooking the river, their living room doors open onto the sun verandah and own private garden with seating furniture, ideal for relaxing in, soaking up the sun and watching the boats pass by. Although set in a peaceful location, the properties are still linked to the modern world and have Wi-Fi access. There is private quay headed mooring for a motor launch (available for hire by prior arrangement), and this location is perfect for river fishing. The chalets are located in the village of Brundall, the centre for boat building and boat hire, and which has its own railway station, shop/post office, mini-market, hairdresser, chinese takeaway, fish and chips shop, fine restaurant and local pubs all serving good food; one is just across the river, and one is within a short stroll.
Great Yarmouth is easily accessible by car or train, as are the surrounding seaside towns and villages of Gorleston-on-Sea, Hemsby, Caister-on-Sea, Winterton, California, Newport and Hopton-on-Sea, all offering entertainment for a family holiday. The pretty Broadland villages and countryside. RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen, 3 miles. Norfolk’s finest sandy beaches are 12 miles. The fine city of Norwich is 8 miles with its excellent shopping, theatre, restaurants, inns, cafés, castle and museum.
For fun-filled family days out there is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens with a renowned collection of Asian mammals including birds; you will also find reptiles in the pleasantly landscaped gardens. Close by, the village of Strumpsham has a steam museum, and Reedham offers Pettitts Animal Adventure Park.
Whatever type of holiday you are after, it can be as active or as laid back as you want it to be, and you are sure to be pleased with a holiday at Riverside Lodges.

This is the second time we have stayed in Serena Lodge and I am sure it will not be the last.

We have stayed at Brundell in 9 different chalets previously. We were disappointed with: dining room chairs were unstable; kitchen equipment could have been better, tea towel, crockery drainer, cutlery. Shower needs attention... was very hot and could not alter temperature. Suggest chicken wire be installed on slippery decking. Decent outside light would be helpful too. Had a very nice break and enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are very sorry that Don was disappointed with the items he mentioned. We do have a policy which states in our house book that if there are any problems please let us know. We would have dealt with these if we had known. As regards lighting, we are in an area run by the Broads Authority planning. One of the conditions is that we must avoid light pollution, and minimise any potential impact on wildlife in the surroundings. The lighting is sufficient for safety to see.

Serena is excellent for fishing parties. Could do with a freezer instead of a washer though.

One of the best holidays ever. While mu husband does fisjing i can climb on the train and either go to norwich or great yarmouth within minutes. The house it self is so relaxing and beautiful it is a pleasure to wake up there for a week definitely go back

Excellent location, fishing excellent, garden secure and lots of chairs and parasols. Safe and sound for a couple of dogs, no escape routes all fenced off well. Parking spot on, and secure too. Owners are near enough if needed, but left us well to ourselves. Nearest tackle shop is Potterheigham (12 miles) - sells everything needed from bait to tackle boxes and bivvies Bream to 5lb, pike to 10lb, roach up to a 1lb and perch up to 1.5lb Got a bit plagued by mosquitos, but that's common with the weather and being so near so much water. Decking for fishing sound, water in front drops up to 3 feet when tide turns min depth was around 5 feet in the edge, Decent feeder holds middle and perfect for running stick through or fishing long pole, or just the top three's Electric runs of a meter, so need a few £1 coins. Shower not too bad, and kitchen and oven sound would definitely go again (and have booked already)
