Riverside location

Commanding an imposing waterside position, Riverside House stands on the banks of the River Waveney, the gateway to the southern Broads, a short walk from the market square in the pretty town of Beccles on the Norfolk-Suffolk border. It is set in a street of mostly medieval and Georgian houses, each with their own architectural charm, and has a private, riverside terrace which overlooks the 16th-century church and bell tower where Lord Horatio Nelson’s parents were wed. A house for all seasons, you can sit round the roaring log fire in winter, or enjoy the west-facing private terrace and gardens in summer, watching magnificent sunsets over the fields. Fishermen will delight in fishing from the holiday property’s large pretty riverside garden and patio – a rowing dinghy and two buoyancy lifejackets are even provided for river trips or picnics. Walk to the centre of the charming market square to enjoy a drink at one of the many local inns and traditional country pubs or savour a leisurely meal at one of the restaurants. A range of independent delicatessens sell epicurean speciality local produce and there is even a Victorian sporting shop. Explore all the attractions that Norfolk and Suffolk have to offer including Southwold, 15 miles, with its seafront, pier and summer theatre, or Dunwich Heath and beach. There is also RSPB Minsmere to visit, Aldeburgh with its fishing boats and local seafood, and Snape Maltings with its concert hall. Pleasurewood Hills theme park and Africa Alive are not to be missed, and children will love the treetop experience at BeWILDerwood adventure park. Shops, pubs and restaurants 300 yards.

Riverside House is the perfect house and location for a relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings with all amenities close at hand. The riverside location is ideal for relaxing by the river, feeding the swans and ducks, watching the birds and the boats going up and down the river. Hippersons boat yard is a short stroll away to hire a boat and only a short walk to the town with a wide variety of shops and places to eat and drink. There are lots of great places to visit such as Bungay, Halesworth, Wymondham, Lowestoft, Diss, Gorleston on Sea and Southwold. The house has everything you could possibly want and with views of the river from every window it makes a superb place to stay. Beccles is a great little town and Riverside House a fantastic place to stay.

The house was lovely and felt like home away from home. It was in the ideal location for local walks and exploring beccles. We hired a boat , went to local towns, enjoyed several meals in beccles restaurants . We would definitely return

A Comfortable Holiday Home in a perfect location for a relaxing stay on the edge of the Broads. Spotlessly Clean and very roomy. Furniture very comfortable. Lots to see passing by on the River and enjoyed the Birds, the Kingfisher and loved feeding the Swans every day. Also saw endless Blackbirds, Chaffinches. Blue and Great Tits and the Robin. A good holiday despite The British Weather.

This comfortable cottage has become a home from home and it is always hard to leave. Great riverside location and within easy walking distance of town centre. Already booked for next year.

My wife and I could not fault our recent stay at Riverside House, Beccles. The house was in a lovely location on the River Waveney and Beccles is a very nice town with some nice dog friendly pubs/restaurants particularly the Royal Oak and Bear and Bells. It was in a location where we could visit other towns both locally and on the Broads. Being a very keen course angler the only downside to my holiday was the lack of decent fish in the actual location of the house. Plagued by pike every day. I managed to catch several pike whilst fishing for roach etc un-intentionally on very light tackle. This seemed to put the other fish off. We would not stay at this location again because of the poor fishing but it is an ideal location for non-anglers.

The house and location are perfect for us. The men enjoy the fishing and the women have a great time exploring the local shops and scenery. We have been two years running and have already booked for next you. The willow tree could do with a trim as it blocks out some of the view up river.
