This beautifully presented, detached bungalow sits in the owner’s well-established garden and has two of Cornwall’s loveliest gardens within a short walk. This area of Cornwall is inundated with many tourist attractions, pretty coastal villages and resorts; from Fowey to Mevagissey the whole of St Austell Bay is dotted with secret coves and secluded beaches, such as Menabilly made famous by Daphne du Maurier. The village of Charlestown, frequently used as a film and TV set, is just a stroll away from the holiday property, and has several good places to eat right on the ancient quayside which is the home to the Tall Ships used on many films. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, both a must for all visitors to Cornwall, are close by and can even be visited by bike - a cycle hire centre can be found in the village of Pentewan across the bay. Lovely clean accommodation. Delightful owners garden which we were told we could use (even our dog). Shirley the owner is very friendly. Nearby field very handy for exercising your dog . Plenty of places to visit. The Brittania pub worth a visit, large beer garden.

Lovely location and with everything you need for a short break, wouldn't recommend more than 4 nights. The lounge furniture is not as shown in the pictures, there is one sofa and two small cheap and uncomfortable chairs. The mattress is also one of the worst I have ever had to sleep on and desperately needs replacing. They have such a lovely large garden but you get the feeling they don't want you to enjoy it as you get two deck chairs in an enclosed dull courtyard at the back of the property. Some nice garden furniture out front in the large garden would make the place much more appealing. Local pub The Britannia Inn is a 10 minute walk and has great food. Charlestown is about a 40 minute walk but worth it. Highly recommend dining at The Boathouse.

What can we say!, perfect in every way. From the cottage itself to the surrounding grounds it was beautiful. On arrival we were greeted by Julie (Shirley was away) who showed us around and left her number should we have any problems or queries. There was also a lovely welcome pack for us. After three days we loved it and the location so much that we booked it again for next year. Lots of places to visit, nice eateries etc. For any dog owners there is a beach very local (Par Sands) for them, also Gorran Haven has a lovely beach and dogs welcome on a lead. Overall, one of the best holidays we have had, and look forward to next year.
