The property takes its name from its prime location on Ritson Wharf and looks directly on to the harbour gates. When the tide is in, the busy harbour always has plenty of boats bobbing in the waves. Just across the road is the popular Wave Centre featuring climbing walls, gym and a caving experience for children. You are just a short stroll to your nearest pub and restaurant and only a 5-minute walk to the town centre of Maryport which is home to all the usual high street stores, a good selection of bars, restaurants, pubs serving local ales, independent coffee shops and cafés. Maryport also has a lovely beach to stroll along and soak up the fresh sea air.
Maryport is located on the north west Cumbrian coast and overlooking the Solway and the mountains of southern Scotland. Just a few miles to the north is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a long stretch of sandy beaches. To the south there is the popular town of Whitehaven with its bustling harbour and town centre. If you enjoy culture and history, why not visit the Senhouse Roman Museum, ¾ mile away. If you like walking and cycling there are a number of cycle routes locally. Of course, if you want some more challenging climbs, you can easily access the Lake District National Park, you are equal distance to both Bassenthwaite where you’ll find The Lakes Distillery and The Lake District Wildlife Park, and Loweswater, home to the famous Kirkstile Inn where you can treat yourself to a pint of Loweswater Gold. Beach ¼ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

A well equipped apartment, very clean, and with an excellent location overlooking the port. With easy access to the local harbour and seashore there are some lovely walks with something different happening every day, with an occasional impromptu fish sale on the docks. This is a north facing flat, a bonus in the recent heat wave, but you can sit on the front lawn in the sun, or shade, looking out to the Solway Firth and Dumfrieshire hills. There's a handy Lidl store but the local pub was up for sale, althought others in the town a 5 min walk away. The owners were very helpful with suggestions and information so I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

The apartment was great, couldn’t fault it at all. Was very clean and had everything you need. The area is like anywhere else, places have closed down due to covid. There’s plenty of other places not too far away that are worth a visit too

Ritson Wharf is a very comfortable, clean and well equipped property. It has the most amazing views across the harbour and towards the Solway Firth. If you are lucky you can witness some spectacular sunsets. Having allocated parking is great bonus too. Whilst the main street is a little tired there is a good selection of shops for everyday needs. Lidl and B&M are within walking distance. There is a train station ,also within walking distance , providing services to Carlisle or as far as Lancaster. Maryport has a lot to offer for local walks and a visit to the Aquarium, Roman Fort and Maritime museum are all worthwhile. The host was so helpful with information too. I would definitely recommend a visit to Maryport and Ritson Wharf was a great place to stay.
