Description

This spacious, picturesque, thatched cottage is nestled on the edge of the stunning Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This quintessential Grade II listed thatched cottage is nestled on the edge of the Quantock Hills, in the pretty little village of West Bagborough, just 2 miles from Bishops Lydeard. Richards Cottage is a cosy family home, perfect for a large family or a group of friends looking for a totally quiet and peaceful location to relax. The south facing garden has a lovely large patio terrace with French doors leading back into the large living room and ground floor bedroom. As well as the family living room, there is a snug with a large wood burner for those cosy nights in. The kitchen has hand built wooden units and a breakfast area which leads out into a spacious utility room/boot room with a walk-in wet room. This house would suit a multi-generational family as there is a ground floor bedroom, ideal for grandparents and also a separate, first floor bedroom, away from the other bedrooms, at the far end of the house which may be helpful if you have a young baby. There is plenty of parking on site and the local pub is just a short walk down hill to the village. Beach 10 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub ¼ mile.

Good cottage but just slightly let down by many lights not working plus leaking/noisy bathroom sink tap. Also not able to get all radiators to heat up for the cold mornings!! Other than these points the cottage wad fine.

Matt the landlord could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The cottage was a lovely blend of old world with modern amenities. It has stunning views with cosy pub serving excellent food only 5 mins walk away. It would be good to point out to prospective visitors that there are many steps in this house and that even though there is a downstairs bedroom there is a step up out of this bedroom and then 2 steps down to the bathroom. Some rooms downstairs are a bit dark and brighter lighting in a couple of the living rooms would be helpful. No local shops but Tescos will deliver. Overall though we loved this beautiful house and would revisit and recommend it.
