Rhos Barn, a traditional Welsh Barn adjacent to the owners’ farmhouse but with its own private and secluded garden, is set within a 100-acre farm in the rolling countryside of Carmarthenshire. This detached barn conversion has been tastefully renovated and provides stylish and quirky holiday accommodation for up to eight people, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The barn has been very sympathetically converted to ensure it retains its characterful features from the beams to the lovely cosy wood burner in the tastefully furnished living room. There’s a comfortable ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower room which is also accessible via a ‘Jack and Jill’ door to the living space. The bedrooms on the first floor are accessed from the staircase leading from the living room up to a mezzanine area with comfy chairs for relaxing with a good book! Across a little “bridge” from the mezzanine is a twin room with an en-suite toilet and basin, and the remaining two bedrooms (both en-suite) are off the main landing. The kitchen/dining room is a great social space with a wonderful cushioned window seat looking out across the courtyard to the farmland beyond. It’s a great place to gather and chat and drink whilst dinner is being prepared! The fully enclosed garden has the added bonus of a hot tub and a separate garden entertainment room with pool table, darts and ample space to relax in. There is also a further paddock within the grounds where you can enjoy outdoor games.
The National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines are 3 miles away and are well worth a visit; tours are available year round. Walks and cycling in the beautiful Brechfa Forest are within easy reach, as are the Brecon Beacons. Llandeilo, with its array of chic shopping and cafés and restaurants, is close by. Lovers of gardens will enjoy visiting Aberglasney or the National Botanical Garden of Wales with its huge glass dome - perfect for exploring at any time of the year. Horse riding and fishing is available nearby and the glorious coastline of Cardigan Bay can be reached in well under an hour. In the most wonderful rural setting, but with so much within easy reach, Rhos Barn is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday and you will feel right at home. Shop 11 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Just had a fantastic trip to This Barn. The welcome from Peter and Lyn was so warm as they gave a great tour of the barn explaining all the key features. They also provided a delicious Victoria sponge cake. The next day Pete came and explained how to use the hot tub and was on hand for some tips on the local area. The whole stay was a relaxing and comfortable stay and can not recommend this place enough! Will be going back one day...

What a gorgeous place. If total relaxation, peace and quiet are what you’re after, this is the place for you. The welcome hamper on arrival was a lovely touch. The owners although next door, were not intrusive at all and we only really saw them in a morning when they cleaned the hot tub. The games room was amazing for the kids. The only slight issue is the nearest supermarket is 20mins away, but that just meant we did one big shop, so not a real problem. All in all, couldn’t recommend staying here highly enough!

Had a lovely week, the cottage had everything you needed. Games room and hot tub were great and the owners took great care in making sure the hot tub was tip top. They were lovely, friendly, helpful and always on hand if you needed them but not intrusive. The Victoria sponge cake that was left for us was a lovely treat. The location was lovely so marked as a 10 but for us, a little remote. There weren’t really many local amenities, the closest supermarket was about 20 mins away but this wasn’t a huge problem. There was a local pub, The Bridgend Inn, which was lovely, food good and excellent value and the owners were very friendly. We were there to relax and use the facilities at the cottage so didn’t venture out too much. Our dog also enjoyed the holiday and the owners left a bowl, towel and treats for him which was really kind and thoughtful. Highly recommended.
