A nice cottage in a rural region. En suite shower rooms very small, compact. Well equiped, everything you need, home from home. Nice owner.

We loved our week at Restwell. The owners live very close by but are very 'hands off' unless required. The cottage is very well equipped and we were made to feel very welcome with a cream tea on arrival. The view from the lounge was amazing - highly recommended if you love wifelife - Bernie and Darren have thought of everything. Loads of games, books, guides available and a set of binoculars which were handy when we spotted a deer coming our way :-)

The cottage was in a beautiful area, some way from the village. The bathrooms especially in the double room were very small.I had to stand in the shower to wash my hands. The cottage was very comfortable and well fitted. The garden was very pretty.

The cottage was lovely, our party consisted of two adults, two children and a dog, it was more than big enough for our family, as others have mentioned, the double bedroom is quite small but plenty large enough for us. The cottage is well equipped and includes washing machine, dishwasher etc. We had a bit of a problem with the shower not draining properly and the toilet leaking but these were dealt with during our stay by the owners. We did find that there wasn't enough hot water for everybody to have a shower in the mornings but we just planned around it and it was fine. Locally there is a shop and dog friendly pub in the village which is walkable. There are walks locally and a short drive take you to plenty of other walks, national trust properties etc. The property is located in a very rural area and the views across the fields are lovely and very peaceful. There is a separate £20 a week charge for the central heating which we found a bit strange - quite why the charge isn't included in the property price is a bit of a mystery, but that said the cottage was nice and warm. We found the owners very friendly and not too intrusive and would definitely recommend this cottage.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you very much for your glowing report. We are delighted that your stay at Restwell was a pleasurable one and that you enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. We’d also like to thank you for brining to our attention your confusion over the separate heating charge which we have now included an explanation within our welcome folder in the cottage. As stated, this payment, and now the pet charge, is payable directly to the owner. It was our pleasure to meet your family.

first impression of restwell were excellent a lovely clean smell as we walked in and nice and warm very homely feel. The owners had left us a nice bottle of proccseco and some yummy cup cakes. The cottage is absolutely beautiful with wonderful views from the living room patio doors. We saw lots of wildlife. The owners Bernie and Darren were very thoughtful and as it being Christmas had decorated the cottage and put up a beautiful real Christmas tree. The cottage was fully equipped and had everything there that we needed it really did have a home from home feel. We had cozy evenings in front of the wood burner (lots of wood supplied) and the heating was set 3 times a day so we were lovely and warm. Lots of lovely walks from the door and lots of great villages to explore nearby. A great pub within walking distance. All in all an excellent cottage for all the family. Bernie and Darren are such great hosts and it was an absolute pleasure to meet them both. We were sad to leave and look forward to booking again soon 😀

Fantastic outlook from the cottage tho a little more remote than expected. Double room could be better utilized as a single with more hanging space. Kitchen cutlery and cooking kit could do with an update. We were lucky with the weather and out and about on all days. Dog now recovered from beach walks.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. Thank you for your comments. Our property is surrounded by the lovely countryside but is very easily accessible. The cutlery is new in the property, maybe you mean there isn't enough of it and there was also a new frying pan and two new saucepans available during your stay in the kitchen cupboard. The double room as stated within the property description is a "small double" and is going to remain a double as it has been for the last 18 years, this allows our property to sleep 4 plus baby. There are lots of photos to view on the website. We're very pleased to hear your lovely dog has recovered from the holiday.

A beautiful and restful spot with beautiful views over the countryside and easy access to the North coast and the Broads. However the double room is quite small and doesn't have room for a wardrobe or chair, just a chest of drawers and small bedside cabinets so we had to hang clothes on hangers provided on the backs of the doors. I feel that this room would be better suited to a single with more storage. However the twin room was much roomier and we were able to put spare pillows, unused bed cushions and our suitcase in there out of the way although the room was in use by my inlaws who came with us.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner-Thank you for your complimentary comment with regard to our beautiful location. Our property is advertised as having a "small double" and it can be viewed on the website. Having two rooms that cater for two couples keeps the affordability competitive. We like to think it's small but perfectly formed.
