Probably the best equipped and most practical dog friendly cottage I have stayed in. Lower marks are based on factors outside the owners control such as the internet speed and lack of amenities in the immediate village. Pub nearby is like something out of The League of Gentlemen but possibly worth a visit for that reason alone. The nearby hill fort is a great and safe place to walk a dog though and has great views on a clear day. The location is excellent for exploring the towns and villages on the Jurassic Coast from Weymouth to Beer within a relatively short drive and the fish and chip van in Broadwindsor on a Tuesday which you can eat in the local dog friendly pub is a great idea. Overall an excellent cottage which is great for dog owners, with helpful and friendly owners.

A really cosy welcoming cottage. We felt at home straight away. The log burner was wonderful. We had a really relaxing break, which was much needed.

Lovely, well equipped holiday home with everything needed for a week away. Views really Lovely. Wood burner for cold cosy evening's. Ideally placed to visit lots of places. Lyme Regis beach a hit with our dog dottie! The downside is the road outside and lane behind! Which can be busy and fast! Also the cottage is old and has some damp problems, we were away in January and it rained a lot so maybe in summer not such a problem?

No pavements and a very busy road so could not walk dogs without getting car out. As a dog friendly cottage this should have been mentioned in the cottage details because we wouldn’t have booked it. Nice cottage, comfy beds, lovely Xmas decorations.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Sorry to hear that you had a problem. I have 3 dogs and have not experienced the same problem. There are many footpaths and quiet lanes all around the property. The lane at the rear of the property is very quiet and is a very short walk from the Lamberts Castle Estate.

The cottage itself is very comfortable and clean. We found the traffic very busy on the road to the front of the cottage. There is no path to walk on. The garden, you couldn`t sit in because of traffic noise. We like to stay in a quieter location but that is our choice. There are lovely views from this property.

Very disappointed with our stay. Place was not clean enough and I had to hoover up a load of dog hair as I arrived. The cottage suffers from damp and has air fresheners in all rooms but this does not mask the smell. Garden v small and on main Rd but we didn’t visit during good weather so this not a problem.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We take great pride in our property and our aim is always to exceed our guests expectations so this type of feedback is very disappointing to us. We have however noted the opinions expressed and addressed, as far as is possible, the issues raised.
