Overall a fantastic location, soo quiet and just what we wanted. From the hot tub to the log burner to feeling like your in the middle of no where it is a perfect location and perfect lodge.Walking down the track, and the smell of new wood as you walk into the lodge all makes it inviting. Will definitely be booking again in the future.

We enjoyed our holiday, the hot tub was fun and we used it every day. The location was peaceful and not too far away from attractions. There were positives and negatives at Dukes Woods. Postives were the hot tub,the peaceful location, the horses, the decor was nice . The welcome tray with biscuits, tea coffee was a nice touch. Negatives were, the lodge wasnt as clean as i would have hoped the cutlery draw was dirty as were some of the utensils. Lots of dust and dirt behind units and in cupboards. As someone previously mentioned about the privacy at the door were opposite neighbours could see you this is an issue but could be easily solved. Also not enough toilet roll handwash and no kitchen roll provided, which should be available in the lodge. We did enjoy our time at Dukes Woods, it has alot of positive things going for it but lots of negatives,i think with abit more effort it could be great!

We had an amazing holiday here and enjoyed the location and views. The facilities were as described and better. Is situated in a great location as we spent a day in Lincoln, Sherwood forest and the Peak District.

My husband and I had a relaxing and largely enjoyable stay at Dukes Wood. The lodge was in a quiet and secluded position and the hot tub was very welcome. The owners seemed friendly, but unobtrusive. The settee and beds were very comfortable and overall the lodge was quite spacious for a couple or smaller family. On the negative side, when we arrived the kitchen bin hadn't been emptied, my husband had to wash the crockery again before we used it and the handle in the small bedroom was broken. It was an extremely hot day when we arrived and when we entered the property it was 34 degrees centigrade inside, something which could have been avoided if the windows had been left open. The lodge went from being really quite hot during the day, if you didn't have all the windows and doors open, to being extremely cold during the early hours of the morning. To get from the bedrooms to the toilet you had to walk across a foyer where the glass door and window had no curtain, so the people staying in the other lodge could see you. Hence you had to put something on, which I found irritating. Having said all this, I still enjoyed my stay and suggest that, with a small amount of extra effort, and perhaps some blackout blinds, this could be made a really first class holiday

Home from home in a rural location with a hot tub. We had a totally relaxing time. The local village of Southwell has plenty of eateries and a large Co-op should you forget anything. Only 15 minutes away from the train station at Newark, then a hassle free 20 minute train journey to Nottingham.

Could not recommend this place enough! Had a fantastic weekend & will be returning! The cabins are done to a great standard with everything you could possibly need. They’re private & the hot tubs can’t be seen by your neighbours. Honestly had the most perfect time.

Great lodge with a hot tub, welcome pack was lovely and had all the necessary bits that some places don’t have (like a toilet roll and dishwasher tablets).

Perfect little get away! You're a short drive from any shops, pubs and places to eat and super easy to get into Newark-upon-Trent itself. This is as expected from the properties description. Even though there's 5 properties on-site, including the owners Farmhouse, you get so much peace and quiet! The area was beautiful, although not much to do at the time of year we booked. We found plenty that could have been done but was unfortunately closed. Will 100% be booking again!

Great little cabin on a really peaceful farm. We were 2 couples and enjoyed our long weekend very much. Amenities within 10 minutes drive but we had already been to the supermarket beforehand so had everything we needed. Hot tub was great and a perfect addition to the cabin. If youre looking for a relaxing break this place is perfect :)

Myself and three friends went here for a long weekend. We had a lovely time nice and quiet location not to far from Clumber Park. We found the lodge to be really cute with nice decor and very cosy. We would definitely go back but also recommend it to friends and family. X

S lovely and quiet location with a relaxing cosy feel to the place. Never stopped in a lodge before. This isn't a criticism but an observation/preference but personally i think dressing gowns should be provided if a hot tub is on offer. Also both sets of towels that were left for us to use (i.e hot tub and bath towels) were much too small even for us and we are average sized people. We were surprised that no toiletries were not provided in the shower or a hairdryer . Luckily us girls brought some toiletries so our husbands could share and a hairdryer too. Not enough toilet roll was an issue as we only had 1 toilet roll provided and we were 4 people booked for 3 nights. It seems only 1 toilet roll is all that is provided and extra is for the guest to bring as also is the case with dishwasher tablets if we were using more than the 2 we were left with. So possibly mentioning a few of these points in the description for the property would be helpful.
