We booked this as Christmas present for our partners. Safe to say that we all loved it and are already planning our return in June. Beautiful setting and a brilliantly equipped lodge. Hot tub was amazing, especially at night looking at the stars. Fantastic place. Highly recommend.

From the hot tub to the log burner to feeling like your in the middle of no where it is a perfect location and perfect lodge.Walking down the track, and the smell of new wood as you walk into the lodge all makes it inviting. We enjoyed our holiday, the hot tub was fun and we used it every day. The location was peaceful and not too far away from attractions. There were positives and negatives at Dukes Woods. Postives were the hot tub,the peaceful location, the horses, the decor was nice . The welcome tray with biscuits, tea coffee was a nice touch. Negatives were, the lodge wasnt as clean as i would have hoped the cutlery draw was dirty as were some of the utensils. Lots of dust and dirt behind units and in cupboards. As someone previously mentioned about the privacy at the door were opposite neighbours could see you this is an issue but could be easily solved. Also not enough toilet roll handwash and no kitchen roll provided, which should be available in the lodge. We did enjoy our time at Dukes Woods, it has alot of positive things going for it but lots of negatives,i think with abit more effort it could be great!

We had an amazing holiday here and enjoyed the location and views. The facilities were as described and better. Is situated in a great location as we spent a day in Lincoln, Sherwood forest and the Peak District.

My husband and I had a relaxing and largely enjoyable stay at Dukes Wood. The lodge was in a quiet and secluded position and the hot tub was very welcome. The owners seemed friendly, but unobtrusive. The settee and beds were very comfortable and overall the lodge was quite spacious for a couple or smaller family. On the negative side, when we arrived the kitchen bin hadn't been emptied, my husband had to wash the crockery again before we used it and the handle in the small bedroom was broken. It was an extremely hot day when we arrived and when we entered the property it was 34 degrees centigrade inside, something which could have been avoided if the windows had been left open. The lodge went from being really quite hot during the day, if you didn't have all the windows and doors open, to being extremely cold during the early hours of the morning. To get from the bedrooms to the toilet you had to walk across a foyer where the glass door and window had no curtain, so the people staying in the other lodge could see you. Hence you had to put something on, which I found irritating. Having said all this, I still enjoyed my stay and suggest that, with a small amount of extra effort, and perhaps some blackout blinds, this could be made a really first class holiday
