Description

Retaining many original features, this property is also nestled amongst 42 acres of beautiful open countryside enjoying panoramic views.

Dating back to around 1770, these country-style holiday cottages (refs 31210, 31211, 31212 and 31213) have been tastefully converted from the old farm buildings and barns. They all retain many original features, including rustic beams and stone walls. Nestled amongst 42 acres of beautiful open countryside and enjoying panoramic views, they are ideal for a relaxing break to escape the rigours of everyday life. Sit back, relax and enjoy some of the wild birds and animals that reside in and around this area, with only the sounds of the countryside to disturb the tranquillity on offer at Rawcliffe House Farm. The area is ideal for walkers and cyclists with bridle paths and cycle trails starting at your door, and with 42 acres of landscaped natural and wooded areas surrounding the property, you may find you never leave the grounds. It is also perfect for exploring both the North York Moors National Park and the Heritage Coast of Yorkshire. The historic market town of Pickering is just 6 miles away, home to the North Yorkshire Moors steam train - you can park your car, board the train, and sit back and relax as it chugs its way through some 18 miles of glorious countryside, a journey you will never forget. Whitby is approximately a 13-mile drive along beautiful country roads, famed for its connections with Captain James Cook, a colourful harbour yachting marina, the imposing abbey ruins and St Mary’s Church. It is where Bram Stoker discovered Count Dracula and the town is renowned for the folk, music festivals and Gothic weekends. The heather-clad moors of North Yorkshire are a delight – discover small villages tucked away deep in the valleys, where you will find many quaint little tea rooms, inns and restaurants in and around this area, serving some of Yorkshires finest cuisine, with one just a mile from Rawcliffe House at Newton-on-Rawcliffe. The market towns of Malton, Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside still host weekly markets. Historic homes, halls and castles are in abundance in this area with Castle Howard, Duncombe Hall, Sewerby Hall and Gardens and not forgetting, the 12th century castle ruins in Pickering which are all worth a visit. There is so much to do and see in this area guests find themselves returning again and again. Beach 13 miles. Shop 6 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
