The tranquil village of Flushing promises a relaxing escape amongst picturesque coastal surroundings. From the harbour in front of the property, a passenger ferry runs regular services between Flushing and Falmouth where you can connect to the St Mawes Ferry and in the summer months you can take the Fal Riverboat to Trebah and Glendurgan gardens and Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay. The year round dog-friendly beach at Kiln Quay is just a short walk from the property and offers superb views of Falmouth Docks the Carrick Roads and St Anthony’s Head. From the beach you can enjoy a lovely walk along the coastal path between Flushing and Mylor, with excellent ’watering holes’ at both locations. The village bowling green has a superb children’s play area with a huge pirate ship offering a space to work off excess energy in an enclosed area. The village has two excellent pubs, plus a quayside restaurant. Regular village events including a monthly produce and craft market and there is a well-stocked village store for all your essential supplies. In late July/early August the village comes alive for the Flushing Regatta Week when all kinds of events take place from rowing, swimming, sailing bathtubs and snail races, to sandcastle building, crab catching and a gala-style carnival procession through the village. Flushing is easy to reach by car and the nearest railway station Penryn connects with rail services at Truro for direct links to London Paddington in about 4 hours.
