Ideal romantic retreat for a couple or honeymooners, wishing to discover the beautiful Ribble Valley. Enjoy a glass of fizz in the private hot tub!

Situated in the heart of Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley and enjoying unspoilt rural views from its own private hot tub, Quakerfield Lodge is perfect for couples looking for a romantic escape to the country.

Set in the grounds of the owner’s home but enjoying complete privacy, the single-storey property provides comfortable and well proportioned accommodation. Outside there is a private patio with barbecue, table and chairs for al fresco dining, as well as a partially covered, private hot tub which can be enjoyed no matter what the weather.

Quakerfield Lodge is located in the quiet village of Hurst Green, which has won Britain’s Best Kept Village on numerous occasions. With breath taking views and fabulous walks from the doorstep, the lodge is perfect for those seeking peace and tranquillity, although should you wish to keep in touch with family and friends the property is equipped with wi-fi.

There are 3 award winning eateries within a few hundred yards of the property, and the bustling market town of Clitheroe with its hill top castle, array of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants is just 5½ miles away.

The village of Hurst Green dates back to the late 1500s with the founding of Stonyhurst Hall which is just a stone’s throw from the lodge. In 1794, it became Stonyhurst College which has taught and inspired many artists and writers including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and JRR Tolkien. A historic Grade I listed building set in beautiful grounds, the college has one main church as well as five chapels, four libraries, an observatory and a collection of art, sculpture and relics which are significant to the history of Catholicism.

A walker’s paradise, the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is right on the doorstep. Other popular walks include the Tolkien Trail and the Witches Trail around neighbouring Pendle Hill. Alternatively why not follow the gourmet Ribble Valley Food Trail which showcases some of the country’s best food suppliers and restaurateurs. The area is abundant in award-winning restaurants, and celebrity chefs Paul Heathcote and Nigel Haworth both have Michelin starred establishments within a 10-minute drive. Apart from its reputation for excellent food and drink, the Ribble Valley is also renown for its superb scenery, picturesque villages and welcoming country pubs. The pretty villages of Downham, Waddington, Chatburn, Whalley and Chipping are all within a 15 minute drive, and the Roman village of Ribchester is just 5 minutes away.

Should you wish to venture further afield, there are lots of places to visit within easy driving distance thanks to its proximity to the A59 and the motorway network. Blackpool and the Fylde Coast, Haworth and Brontë Country, the spa town of Harrogate, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Southern Lakes are all within an hour’s drive. Golf 1 mile. Shop 660 yards, pub 385 yards and restaurant 5½ miles.

Cleanliness of hot tub excellent. No shop in village so other than a few bits in the cafe (which isn't open Mon/Tues), a 10-15 min drive to pick up provisions. Very peaceful location. Lovely sat out at night star gazing. Owner available if needed and had left a lovely welcome pack.
