This quintessential Cotswold stone, beautifully styled, period holiday property is set in the heart of the popular village of Bourton-on-the-Water.

This quintessential Cotswold stone period, adjoining holiday property, has been beautifully styled and renovated, and is set in the very heart of the popular village of Bourton-on-the-Water, famed for its series of low stone bridges which span the fast flowing River Windrush. Puffitt’s Cottage is warm and cosy with a wood burner in the living room, beams and exposed stonework in many of the rooms and an attractive enclosed garden. The centre of the village is just a short, level stroll away and many walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep; why not unwind by taking a leisurely stroll along the River Windrush? There are plenty of sightseeing opportunities, including the model village, Cotswolds Motor Museum, Birdworld and The Cotswold Perfumery. There are many individual shops, cafés and restaurants to enjoy, as well as a gentle stroll by the water’s edge. The city of Gloucester, with its magnificent cathedral and tomb of Edward II is within easy reach, as is the Regency city of Cheltenham with famous racecourse. Wonderful, tastefully furnished cottage close to the centre of Bourton on the Water. Walking distance to pubs and restaurants and local attractions. Wonderful walks for dogs. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time in the cottage over the Christmas and New Year. The cottage is in a great location in Bourton on the Water with plenty of amenities within walking distance. Great pubs and cafes near by and the Cornish bakery makes fabulous croissants. We loved Stow on the Wold too. The cottage was very clean and decorated lovely for Christmas, and Nicky the owner, left a much appreciated welcome tray. The kitchen is well equipped with a lovely range. The smoke alarm is a bit too close to the cooker though and cooking a fried breakfast became a bit of a challenge with it keep going off. It has a nice enclosed garden for dogs and 2 parking spaces for cars, which is very helpful. We can highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately, our experience of this cottage was tainted by the terrible smell from the drains in the third bedroom (which is off the utility room at the very back of the property). It was so bad that we were unable to use the room. The owner text us about this on the penultimate day of our stay. Unfortunately due to the thick walls in the house we didn't receive the text until much later. I am disappointed that the owners obviously knew about the problem but didn't have the foresight to fix this problem before we arrived (or during our stay). The cottage is smaller than what it appears in the pictures (especially the living room and 3rd bedroom). It had a nice log burner (with wood for 1st night), and owners had left bread, tea, etc for us on arrival, which was nice. Location is very good, and town in only a short walk. Main bedroom was nice and comfy. The nearby pub did decent food and drinks, and people were very friendly in there. For what we got I think the property was very expensive.

Although visually the seating and beds looked lovely, we found them extremely un_comfortable for sitting and sleeping, and the toilet seat doesn't fit. These are the only reasons we scored it low on comfort. other than this everything was as discribed.
