This property is located just a few minutes’ walk away from the centre of Wroxham, ’Capital of the Broads’.

Ideal touring location

Porters is a large detached house with an L-shaped living room, which is set in a spacious mature garden. Just a few minutes’ walk away from the centre of Wroxham, ’Capital of the Broads’. Here you can enjoy the pleasures of the River Bure - a relaxing cruise, a stroll down to the water’s edge or simply sit back at one of the waterside inns and watch the boats pass by. With so many lovely beaches along the Norfolk coast, a day by the sea is a must. Cromer, a traditional seaside holiday resort, complete with Victorian pier and lighthouse, is easily accessible. For children, the BeWILDerwood Outdoor Adventure Park at Horning offers an outdoor tree house adventure with zip wires, jungle bridges, marsh walks and boat trips - a great family day out. Sailing, fishing (in season with permit), walking and cycle hire are all available locally. The city of Norwich, 8 miles, has an impressive cathedral, museums, theatres and a fine array of cafes and shops. Golfers can enjoy one of the 9 golf courses nearby at Royal Sheringham, Cromer, Mundsley and Sprowston, which is just 3 miles away. Nearby NT Properties, the 17th century Felbrigg Hall, Park and Garden and the magnificent Jacobean Blickling Hall, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn and her family, are both well worth a visit. Shop, pub and restaurant 850 yards.

    We had a great week staying in this well equipped and comfortable accommodation. The property is both family and pet friendly, and only a short walking distance from local amenities. The venue easily accommodated our family gathering, and we all enjoyed our visit to Wroxham.

    The house was in need of a real good clean, especially the kitchen and dining room floors, roof leaked so toilet floor downstairs was wet, showers just trickled so was unable to wash hair properly, electrics need looking at as fuses kept tripping, back door doesn't have effective lock, one bolt at the bottom and door has gap in it, in my opinion not worth the money we paid and left a day early as accommodation was not what we expected, cooker not regulated and turns off, carpet on stairs has gripper coming through so kids kept cutting their feet, no locks on upstairs kids bedroom windows so kids could open and fall out, also no up to date landlords certificate was in the book it ran out in June

    Response on behalf of the Owner; The kitchen and conservatory/dining room are cord carpeted and these as with all floors are cleaned thoroughly before each visitor comes to stay. The downstairs shower head has now been replaced. It appeared to have been damaged on one side and water was escaping although it still was able to be used. The upstairs shower over the bath works fine. The Landlord Certificate runs from June 2017/2018 and this covers the gas cooker, gas hob, fire in the lounge and the central heating/hot water. The electrics are also covered by our contract with the gas board as are the drains. The electrics were checked over in July when they came to renew the light bulb in the conservatory. I will ask for this to be double checked. The carpet on the stairs, in the lounge and hallway has recently been renewed. We will check this over although I have had no other complaints of this. Because the house is very warm and we have had complaints that the windows were all locked we had stopped locking them. I did leave the visitors a key so that they could lock them if they so wished. They did mention that it is possible to obtain locks for the windows that enable the windows to be opened a small amount. I will look into this for the future. The conservatory/dining Room leads to the garden. The double doors have been sealed for security and the door on the side opens to the garden and the BBQ area.
