We would have scored comfort higher but it’s let down by equipment in kitchen area. Tools are a haphazard oddment, for instance 3corkscrews but no tongs for use with grill. No baking tray and an oddments of cookware mostly unsuitable for microwave. The new oven is let down by having a drop down door that must be open when using grill which is a trip hazard. The property is not on main sewer so there is no dishwasher. The furnishings are very comfortable and well kept. Plenty of storage in the bedrooms and lots of room. Bathroom is ok with an adequate shower cubical and a separate bath. Noise from extractor fan that comes on with light can be a disturbance at night so we tended to use light over mirror. Shaver socket on light too high for electric toothbrush. The garden is wonderful and immaculately kept with a lovely view over the valley and the sea beyond. Plenty of room to turn car round and park which is good because the Lane is very steep and narrow but oh what a joy to see the abundance of wild flowers growing both sides. No WiFi but 4G on O2. The pub in the village has free WiFi.

Couple were so nice. The apartment was lovely. Only criticism was TV. Was old, channels hard to find and remote useless. Sounds picky but a we stayed later in the year we did watch TV in the dark evenings so did get frustrating. But other than that. Old style apartment, comfortable with old style manners. Stunning views. A great find.

We had a really relaxing break but the request made by the host to "sleep between sheets so she did not have to wash the quilt cover between guests" was quite a shock. Surfaces in the kitchen were sticky and in need of a thorough clean.

A wonderful quiet break high up on a leafy lane above the village of Stratton.. The views were spectacular and my mother enjoyed sitting on the patio reading or just taking in the sea views and listening to the sheep in the field behind the house. The owners were a delightful couple who made us feel welcome and even called us to make sure we got home ok. There was no Wi-Fi but do you know it was great to "detach" ourselves from media for a few days and we read, watched some tv and generally relaxed, something I particularly rarely do at home. I would definitely go back even if it was for another slice of Mrs Fox's delicious home made cake she left us on a lovely tea tray, set to welcome us on our arrival. Book this cottage folks, its near everything and yet far away enough to give you peace and quiet when you want it..... !

A delightful stay at the cottage, the owners were very welcoming on arrival. Beautiful view across Stratton to Bude from the cottage across the immaculately kept garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, with great little chats with our hosts about all things local. We would heartily recommend a stay there. Excellent beach at Bude only a couple of miles away.
