The cottage is well presented, warm and welcoming, and perfectly located as a base for the nearby beach at Brancaster, or for touring the north Norfolk coast. The owner provided some milk, tea, coffee and sugar, tea towel and washing up essentials, and there were basics like salt and pepper in the cupboard.

This cottage is in a fantastic location but sadly it is just not loved by its owners. We stayed here about 5 years ago and not much has changed since then. Reclining sofas that don’t recline, a set of bedroom drawers which are wonky and fell on my husband when he opened the drawer. Couldn’t get enough hot water to fill a bath, no dryer or clothes horse to dry clothes, the kitchen floor was grubby. I sprayed cleaner on it when we arrived and gave it a mop and got a good layer of dirt off it. There is no WiFi either which is not a necessity but certainly a handy bonus at a property. The good bits are that it is in a good location with a good pub nearby. If the owners updated this cottage it could really be a highly sought after location. Sadly we won’t return.

I really enjoyed the cottage. Overall it was acceptably clean on arrival. The plumbing was odd; the shower ran when the tap on the basin in the bathroom was opened; the downstairs toilet took a lot of flushing. The bathroom was "tired" & was poor for accessibility. The duvets & pillows were rather jaded & I should bring my own another time. The garden was lovely & certainly very dog- friendly. The furniture functional & comfortable. I must sound a bit picky, but hope it may help to maintain standards.

We had the most fantastic time. We being 3 adults and 2 dogs. I know Norfolk well (both my parents come from here) but to stay in such a lovely cottage in Brancaster was beyond my wildest dreams. Everything was perfect and, as this was my first holiday in 12-years and my dogs ever first holiday, I couldn't have wished for more. After 7-days at Pitts Cottage I (and my canines) have returned to Warwickshire (where we live) totally refreshed and at peace. Thank you very much.
