Cottage was in nice quiet location However it was not made clear that there is no mobile phone connection. We had a punctured tyre and had to use a neighbours house phone. There was no coffee tea or milk provided and local shop was at least a mile away. Not a good start to the holiday. As mentioned in previous comments hot tub is Not always hot and becomes cool when jets are on. Contacted owner directly as also had problem with cooker and tv. Said yes yes he would get someone to look at it. Not totally convinced by his tone of voice although to give him due he was holiday. He his was better than mine!!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We were unsure of the point you made relating to mobile signal. We use Vodafone and other networks and these work very well in the area. We do not offer a welcome pack of the traditional type, this was due to people’s dietary requirements. We do leave a gift for our guests for their arrival, yours being chocolates. Your point relating to the Hot Tub - this is always emptied and cleaned and new water put back in ready for our clients arrival, this is very important to us regarding health and safety, sometimes the water does take a little longer to warm up, there are also jets that blow air, our son did come to your aid when you mentioned cool air being blown whilst you were in the hot tub and advised the reason for this. Our attention to all our guests concerns are dealt with as soon as we are aware of them.

The cottage was freezing when we arrived, there was no heating on, bearing in mind it was January, this was not good. There was no WiFi or mobile phone signal so we were totally cut off. The timer or the thermostat on the heating didn't work, despite checking the instructions more than once. The cooking utensils were poor which made cooking a meal challenging. The directions to the cottage was out of date, telling us to turn at a pub that hadn't been there for at least three years. The only decent thing was the hot tub which was good, but not as warm as it could have been. With a bit more care and attention it could have been wonderful, as it was I wasn't impressed.

Sweet little cottage with everything you need and the amazing hot tub all set in a good sized garden. Quite remote so car needed and there are some signs of wear and tear that just need addressing.

This cottage was the perfect location for us! We definitely will return sometime in the future! Cottage was lovely and warm, hot tub was a bonus!! We were also welcomed with a lovely gift! :)

Initially the cottage seemed very pleasant then the flies arrived! We spoke to the owner on Monday, our 3rd day, about the problem but he said he could not do any thing about them! As the week went on and the outside temperature increased, so did the flies. We were swotting/spraying in excess of 100 a day making the cottage very uncomfortable. Any heat source attracted them so they were constantly around the oven, dishwasher and hot tub. With previous comments in the guest book also highlighting problems I'm sure the owner, with consideration, could install a fly curtain, electrical zapper or supply spray to elevate the problem as I'm sure it will end up affecting future summer bookings.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The lovely weather may attract a few flies as with all properties, this nothing to be concerned about however on investigation, we found that due to the guest leaving the hot tub lid off, a bird had got into the filter and this caused a smell which may have attracted the flies. We do supply fly spray however this isn’t generally needed. The house had been checked and the hot tub has also has been deep cleaned due to the bird getting into filter. This wasn’t mentioned until part way through the holiday week.
