Pinetrees was very comfortable, extremely well furnished and equipped with everything you could ask for. The view from the deck across Lock Fyne is beautiful. The shop in the Post Office across the road stocks the basics but you need to be aware that unless you arrive fully stocked for your stay, trips to Inveraray or Dunoon are necessary for general shopping.

The cottages did not do what the pictures promised. It was not exactly clean (stick and mold almost everywhere -Panels, wood hard banks), the couch and chairs - except for a completely durchgesessen, unclean microwave, which was then replaced - even against a used, sieve from the kettle stocky, in the winter gardens It rained in, the seating on a terrace porous and not necessarily suitable to sit. Terrace planks partly shaky and brittle, Gartenwill on the terrace totally dirty ....... However, the sheets and hand and bath towels were clean and changed weekly - some plus! Since the cottage is also suitable for animals, one can only advise against, because except a permeable and natural hedge, the property is open from each side and it runs a daytime he very busy road on the property over ...... All in all, the rental price for what we found in the cottages for defects was just too expensive I would NEVER book it again .....

We had a lovely stay at Pinetree's in May, easy to find with good access and plenty of space. The living room has fantastic view's accross the loch. We met some lovely neighbours who were full of great advice of where to go and when. The Creggars Inn was a lovely family and dog friendly pub offering good food at reasonable prices, we also enjoyed a few games of pool. It's also only a 10 minute walk down the road or along the beach. The shop opposite offers a decent range of snacks etc, with a petrol garage 5 mins away. The main local supermarket is in Danoon, approx 20 miles. The drive along Loch Eck is lovely. As is the drive to Inverary. We took in Glen Coe and Fort William, all absolutely breathtaking!! A saying we came away from Scotland with is 'Its not about the destination, it's all about the journey'. Really cannot wait to return, Strachur is a real hidden gem!

great holiday location and accommodation. clean, comfy, great view, everything you really need. would certainly use property again. only three minor downsides 1. the sofa in the lounge really needs cushions to make it more comfortable and 2. the entrance door lock is awkward to unlock and lock and could do with sorting but apart from that, a happy holiday was had thank you. 3. personally I would put a gate in the back garden to access the post office directly over the road instead of having to walk around the long way.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; So glad you had a great stay, we did think about putting in a gate but I am not sure if you realised that there is a little cut through if you turn right out of the cottage. Thank you for your lovely comments.

We wanted a cottage in a quiet peaceful location and that's what we got. Pinetrees has got neighbours but we never heard anything from them. The Cottage itself has got everything needed to be self contained for a week and the log fire is amazing ( we took our own logs to keep the cost down as there wasn't many supplied ) There is a bar one mile away and a bar/restaurant one mile in the other direction, we went to both and they were very welcoming. Inveraray and Dunoon are both within half an hours drive and well worth a visit. Would we return? yes, we are considering going back in the Summer months on our Motorbike because the roads in the area are amazing.

We especially enjoyed our trip to the Isle of Bute and walking the on beautiful beach at Ettrick Bay, our visit to the spa at Portavadie Marina, Inveraray Castle and stunning walks at Pucks Glen and Glen Branter. We also enjoyed the local wildlife and saw deer, red squirrels, seals and a wide variety of bird life.
