In a picturesque rural setting surrounded by woodland and fields, is this beautifully restored, old farm stable. Originally on a hop farm, this detached property, situated within the owners’ grounds, is the perfect base for couples seeking some rest and recuperation. Enjoy walks from the doorstep and recharge your batteries. The picturesque village of Brede is close by and nestles in the rolling 1066 countryside. The Cinque Port town of Rye is 7½ miles, where visitors can explore the historical cobbled streets and narrow passages. Enjoy browsing amongst the art and photographic galleries, or relax with an afternoon tea. Winchelsea is another Cinque Port and very picturesque. Spot the egrets in the saltmarsh and the bitterns in the reed beds at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. In winter, you will see the circling lapwings. If its beach and sand dunes that inspire you, head to Camber for bracing walks in the winter along the beach, sunshine filled picnics amongst the dunes in the summer or learn how to kite surf. Hastings, with its beach launched fishing fleet and Jerwood Gallery, is another great day out. Castles, including Bodiam, and vineyards offering tastings of award-winning wines are also plentiful. Golf and fishing close by. Beach 7 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

What a little gem. Stay here if you want seclusion, peace and wildlife. Stay here if you want to feel spoilt. The qualty of the accomodation is superb. The setting is beautiful and the little extras were a fabulous surprise. Nearest shops and restaurant a car ride away. We booked for dinner at the "local" pub the Red Lion. Menu looked great but we were cancelled due to an unexpected power problem. Would however very much recommend The Queen's Head in Seddlescombe. We would stay here again though would prefer a warmer time of year to really make the most of the local attractions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend, the cottage is beautifully done, very comfortable and provides a perfect base for exploring the area. The scones, jam and cream, lovely local wine and other sundries were also very much appreciated!

Had the best weekend break at pickdick stable despite a storm in full force. Upon arrival we were met by the owner who showed us around and explained a few things about the property. The property is so clean warm and relaxing, plus a welcome gift of homemade scones with cream and jam were most welcome, a lovely personal touch to make you feel welcome. The furnishings are all too a high standard and my lord the shower is amazing! Super water pressure, I found myself taking more showers than normal. The bed is very comfortable and slept the best sleep I've had all year even with 80mph winds outside. Will definitely be back to enjoy the bbq area in the summer.

This was the second time we came here this year, once in July and again the end of September. We enjoyed it better obviously in July the best, longer evenings and better weather! We had five days down this time. I think the day we enjoyed the best was going to Great Dixter and a National Trust house, Ellen Terrys house at Smallhyde Place, both were fantastic and would urge anyone to go to both. I would recommend Pickdick Stable to anyone.
