Description

An impressive Périgourdine style house situated by the River Coly and just opposite a renovated lake, it provides a beautiful holiday retreat.

This impressive Périgourdine style house is situated by the River Coly and just opposite a renovated lake. The delightful interior is bright and airy with tiled floors. Tastefully decorated, the property has an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, and is set within large enclosed gardens which lead down to the river, and beside the private outdoor swimming pool. The ancient church of Saint Amand de Coly is worth visiting, as is Montignac. Here, several wooden-balconied houses lean appealingly over the river, and it is the main base for visiting the Lascaux Caves, with some of the finest examples of prehistoric art in existence. Close by is the pretty village of Salignac and the beautiful gardens of Manoir d’Eyrignac. The gastronomy of the region is renowned, with foie gras, duck, goose and of course black truffles are a speciality.

Approximate distance to Bergerac airport is 57 km.

Fantastic place, stunning. The only thing I’d say is the furnishings are getting a bit tired and dirty such as the sun lounger material grubby, hammock area was a mess and the many chairs loungers need some tlc. You have to leave a cleaning deposit which we got back but I get the impression they do not clean if previous occupants have. With a bit of a refresh, tidy of the facilities we would return and hence only giving 8’s. WOW fracture would need a touch of a deep clean on the whole place. The indoor pool, spa, gym is not worth £600 for two weeks, gym equip old and doesn’t work properly, spa old and some vents broken and small, toilet in indoor pool you can not use because of the smell as no ventilation and smelly. The cost of this should be included in the overall price. The outdoor pool cover post broke, it was still useable but owners not bothered and there was no smoke alarm. I don’t won’t to mock the place because we had a fab fab time, because the place is in the country the owners get away with worn out furnishings and because they are French can get away with a relaxed approached. Apart from that this place has the making of WOW if all the above taken into account.
