A cosy retreat just minutes from the centre of a picturesque coastal village.

Pentargon View is a real ‘bolt hole’. Set at the bottom of the Jordan Valley, just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the picturesque coastal village with its harbour, pubs and shops, this detached holiday bungalow has a streamside location in beautiful landscaped gardens. Enjoy the secluded sitting-out area which is ideal for morning coffee or alfresco dining, and take in the sights and sounds of the lovely setting. Coastal walks are also close by, where visitors can take in the breathtaking views of the Atlantic, as is Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur and Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series ’Doc Martin’. Along the coast are Polzeath, with its sandy surfing beach, and Padstow with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s fish restaurant. From Padstow, take a ferry across to Rock to sample the many watersports, hire a bike or walk along the Camel Trail to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. Inland, discover Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, where you can enjoy tranquillity and peace. Beach 1½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Beautiful and convenient location within Boscastle - 5 minutes walk from harbour and its pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops, yet set back down a (very!) steep drive into the seclusion of a lush and leafy valley, just the other side of the small River Jordan to the owner's house. Small but nicely laid out cottage but it is the quiet, lush and very private garden that makes it - beautiful and lovingly cared for range of flowers, bushes, pots; just over half of remaining area is patio with a small table ideal for sitting out for food or a drink. Although the river/stream is only visible from the very edge of the garden, its constant babbling is quite therapeutic - particularly if it is warm enough to leave the bedroom windows open. Shared kitchen/dining/lounge area is reasonably well equipped for cooking meals from scratch, though quite small so table needs to be pushed away partly under surface when not eating. Bathroom very narrow but with lots of hot water for bath and shower; ventilation fine if warm enough to open windows but ceiling fan broken/ineffective. Only downside of cottage for us was various electrical things not ideal - deep throb of fridge and pulsed buzzing of electric meter 2ft above sofa were noticeable enough that had to make sure bedroom door was shut to sleep; though we barely needed them storage heaters seemed rather unpredictable for the type so not able to get a boost by setting output to minimum then turn it up on returning late afternoon (hallway one had completely broken output control too).

We had such a lovely week at the cottage. Location was perfect and the cottage was so cozy. It made for a perfect and relaxing holiday. We will definitely go back there.

Great location and beautiful gardens it was a great place to get away from it all and explore the north Cornwall coast. The only slight issue is that with it being in a valley next to the river it was slightly damp and the heaters weren't working but the weather was lovely so it wasn't too much of a problem.

The cottage and boscastle were lovely, the only thing wrong was the entrance to the cottage was a steep driveway. If your bad on your feet there is noway you can walk up it.

This cosy idyllic cottage situated in a valley next to a beautiful stream was everything we hoped for and more. Th e cottage itself is welcoming, clean, warm and well equipped. The owners thoughtfully provided the essentials so we could sit down and have a drink before sorting things out. There was a vase of fresh flowers to welcome us which we thought was a nice touch. The owners were approachable but never intrusive and were friendly and helpful when needed. Ask them about their eggs. : ) We had no problems parking or driving up the pathway, nor did our twenty year old Picasso. The garden was the high point of our time there being the most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place we have ever stayed. The river, which can be accessed by a secret pathway provides a constant background to the delightful sounds of the birds singing in the surrounding woods and gardens. Every view provides new delights not least the exquisite taste shown by the owners in making their own cottage and gardens as beautiful as the surroundings. We would like to revisit this wonderful place. Local farmers markets are close and fantastic quality.
