A beautiful cottage for a peaceful week of walking, reading and generally relaxing. Despite some Welsh rain, we enjoyed walking into St. Dogmaels but we’re also happy to sit and watch the views from the front garden. The owners have thought of everything and we chose to eat in the cottage most evenings because it is so homely. A wonderful break which has left us with many happy memories.

A beautiful little cottage with a fantastic view. It was a home from home with all of the facilities you could want. We had a little snag with the TV and the owner couldn't have been any more helpful.

Pennant cottage was lovely with amazing views. However St Dogmeals and the surrounding area lacked facilities. There was only one descent pub that served food, the food was of a good standard though. There was a local chippy which was also good. We were a lot further away from the beach as we had first thought. We spent our time travelling in the car, which is the last thing we would normally do whilst on holiday.

We had a lovely week walking the spectacular coastal path seeing dolphins, seals and lots of wildflowers including orchids. Pennant Cottage was ideally situated for this and provided a comfortable and well equipped base.

A lovely, quirky cottage with traditional features and all that you need for a week away. The steps to the bedroom can be tricky but are OK once you get the hang of how to step-on and off. A lovely welcome pack including milk, scones, eggs and homemade marmalade and jam was well received - thank you. We enjoyed the White Hart, the Coach House Café and the Ferry. We also ventured to the Flat Rock Bistro in Gwbert (about 10 minute drive away) and had a couple of lovely meals while watching the sunset on the opposite side of the bay from Poppit Sands. All are dog friendly although the latter is only for outside dining. We were fortunate to have nice weather during our stay but I'm sure that we would have enjoyed the week whatever the weather threw at us!

Wonderful relaxing break in a superbly maintained cottage. Lovely welcome pack from the owner. Incredible views over the river and a gorgeous beach just a 20 minute walk away. Good shop in the village and friendly pubs. Cardigan town centre also within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and will use again.

Cottage was lovely Very cold overnight as heating went off. We visited in February.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review, and your very nice comments in the visitor’s book. I am sorry to hear that you were cold, as the central heating is on constantly for 18 hours, from 7 a.m. until late in the evening; it is a shame that you didn’t contact me with the problem, as I always want my guests to be comfortable and I am always on hand to help.

We had a wonderful week at Pennant Cottage in St. Dogmaels. The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful, and fully equipped with everything you could think of or need - making it a real home from home for the week. There were thoughtful touches everywhere, from fresh eggs, homemade marmalade and milk in the fridge on arrival, to practical things like washing powder so you can bung muddy clothes in the machine if necessary (holidaying with a dog in February, this was much appreciated!) The village itself is lovely, with great pubs like the Ferry Inn, and even out of season the local producers' market was held on a Tuesday morning. The Abbey Cafe also comes highly recommended, serving amazing food with a warm welcome. As well as the nearby beach at Poppit Sands to enjoy, there are miles of stunning coastal path to explore in every direction - we were even lucky enough to spot an otter one day. All in all, a great week away, and we'll definitely be coming back!
