Description

Discover the wonderful beaches, harbour and attractions that Newquay and the surrounding area have to offer.

Sitting in a residential street on the outskirts of Newquay, this spacious, semi-detached three storey house is a very short stroll away from Newquay’s premier family beach. Porth Beach with its own island connected by a bridge, has an iron age settlement, a great spot to watch the sunset while you enjoy a glass of wine. Porth, the original fishing port before the quay was built down the coast, has a beachside pub with great food and local ales, a beach shop and cafés. The surfing town of Newquay with its seven stunning beaches is just minutes away with its many attractions which include a zoo, a sealife centre, leisure centre, golf course, pitch ’n’ putt course, parks and gardens, as well as dramatic cliff top walks and many restaurants, cafés and shops. With its beaches comes surf and surf schools, so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport. Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire, is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the narrow streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambiance provided by this traditional working fishing village. A flat walking and cycling trail links the town to Wadebridge and hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Camel Estuary all the way along this stunning trail. Bike hire is available at both ends. A top tip is to ride from Wadebridge to Padstow and enjoy fish and chips from Stein’s Chippy on the harbour before the ride home. Creally Adventure Park and Lappa Valley Steam Railway are nearby. This property provides the ideal base to explore further afield as the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and many National Trust gardens, parks and houses are close by, such as Lanhydrock House and Trerice Manor. St Ives, Falmouth, Fowey and Mevagissey are all easily reached and all provide an alternative day out. Golf, cycling, horse riding, surfing, sailing and kayaking are all available locally. Beach ¼ mile. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Five star luxury accommodation - the best cottage we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in many over the years. Every aspect exudes luxury - all the rooms are roomy and fitted to a high standard. The showers are both large and effective. The whole cottage looks brand new and is spotlessly clean. It's in a great location to explore much of Cornwall, the beach at Porth is only a 10 minute walk way, but it is down a very steep hill. It's less than a mile from the next nearest Newquay beach.

Fabulous house which is a real home from home. The house is stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The three bathrooms are a real treat - no waiting your turn in the morning and the bed linen is really good quality and very comfortable. Gill the owner left us a welcome pack which included a delicious cake so we were able to make a drink as soon as we arrived and get settled in. The house is just a ten minute walk or short drive from the beach and a couple of pubs and there is a great Indian restaurant just across the road. There are supermarkets nearby and you can walk, drive or jump on a bus into Newquay.

We had a lovely holiday here and would recommend to others easy walk to the beach and into the town. Good Bus service and bus stop across the road from the home. The only thing we found as a family that there was literally 6 off everything which ie breakfast there were not enough knifes to put for spreading butter likewise plate for toast appreciate its for upto and including 6 people but we did struggle with this. I feel another set off 4 places would be suffiecient or even two place and they can keep the other for spares. Feel that prior family had not told these lovely people that they had chipped a glass and we did not realize until too late and was on the breakfast table full off juice. People need to be honest with the owners they provided a lovely home, quality furniture, splendid bedding etc. Accidents happen but just feel need to be honest. The price we appreciate but not too do with the owners as we all say its unfair charging the public the rates because off school holidays we feel this as you as a company should liaise with other agents and bring prices down. But lovely family and defiantely recommend this beautiful 4 year old home absolutely superb!

We are a family of 5 and have just had a lovely stay at Penhallow, we were there for two weeks the house was perfect in every way. Mr and Mrs Peat live next door and were really lovely and welcoming. It was a perfect location for us, with the closest beach being only a 10 minute walk away and our children’s favourite beach Watergate Bay a short drive away. It’s in a perfect spot to explore Cornwall with most places being no more than an hours drive. Would highly recommend staying at this lovely house. Thank you Mr and Mrs Peat

I don't think 10/10 gives this property the credit it deserves. This place was absolutely amazing. I could not find fault with anything. From location to the property itself everything was top notch. Dave & Gill deserve so much praise for offering such a quality place to stay.

Had a terrific time and the house was immaculate. It had everything we needed and was bigger that we thought it would be. Ideally located as a 10 minute walk to Porth beach which also has some lovely walks around it. Couldn't recommend staying here enough!!
