fantastic little cottage which I visited with my sister. Would suit a party of three a couple and 1 single. Couple with an older child would also be perfect. Probably not good for toddlers or young kids as the spiral staircases need a degree of care. Similar those with limited mobility may find them Tricky. Refurbed to a very high standard the accommodation offers every amenity. We cooked most evenings and breakfasts. Bathroom is a dream. Overall the cottage is quirky, comfortouble, easy to use. We were there right through the "beast from the east" and had a wonderful time.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Hi, so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the Pebbles. We are at the moment in the process of renewing and updating things, the TV and Wi-Fi being our main priority. Glad you were so cosy in cottage. Look forward to your return.

The cottage was clean and small dog friendly but no area outside for the dog so need to walk to the beach or up 199 steps for some greenery, which was lovely. Cottages very close together and so other residents were smoking outside of their doors so no windows could be opened to avoid breathing in smoke. TV frustrating and I could not work it and missed a few Christmas programmes. Hit and miss if I could work the radio or DVD player too. After reading the same issue, in regards to the TV or lack of it in the visitors hand book, I could not understand why the owners had not bothered to put this right. Overall a nice, local, clean small place to stop.

Beautiful little cottage tucked into the very heart of Whitby, so pretty, charming and thoroughly quirky, loved it !! Tastefully decorated with a bucket load of charm. It was perfect for us,everything there that we needed. I feel the open spiral staircase may pose a problem for some people, it's narrow and quite steep so you do need to be reasonably agile particularly as there are two flights, the second one leading to the main bedroom. Having said that, it was perfect for us, we would definitely stay again and would highly recommend Pebbles Cottage for an authentic Whitby holiday cottage experience

The plusses are nice and clean, no odours, good size rooms good location. The minuses are its a very difficult drive uo or down the road, its very narrow and packed with pedestrians, the nearst car park is a short walk if you can find a place? the noise levels from the evening revellers was loud and into the early mornings but we assumed it would be like that but not as bad as it was. the tv is very small, 12in? very difficult to work out how to turn it on too. and when using the loo there is no mistaking what you are doing in there and when flushed at night it will wake others in the cottage, it is loud and long.

We love Whitby but were disappointing with a few things in the cottage. The tv seriously needs updating we couldn't get it to work properly. I mean who has a tv/video like that in this day and age. For the price we paid you would expect a working modern tv. The stairs were not for the faint hearted we knew they had a spiral staircase but this is a very steep one. The location of the top bedroom bed to the stairs is very dangerous, they should have a stair gate or something. I was nervous about getting up in the night to go to the toilet and had to leave a light on in case i fell down the stairs. The place was very clean and the location was great no parking which was not great. They had a guest book for guests to put a comment in, i noticed there was numerous comments in regards to the TV needing updated, obviously the owners are ignoring the guests. The money that must be made by the owners is a serious amount and they really need to listen to the requests from their guests and not just sit back and make money. Also get a new frying pan non stick, and WIFI. Its a shame we do love Whitby and will be back but not to this collage as we know we can get better, our friends had a place just a short distance from us with parking wifi and a decent tv.
