Being an Australian, I now understand that the Australian translation of the English term "cottage" means "very small house". We are a family of 4 (2 young children) and stayed there for 2 weeks and unfortunately the cottage was too small to comfortably fit us in. But this is not the cottages fault, it is just hard to tell from the photos how big it actually is. Probably two main areas of concern: The bathroom is quite small, with the main issue is that it is a tight squeeze between the vanity and the heating rails on the wall. So if someone is standing at the vanity, you have to move to get anyone else into the bathroom. This also makes it hard to get into the cupboards of the vanity. But the shower is really good!! The stairs are also very steep and the steps are quite small, which makes it tricky to get up if you are carrying anything (i.e. a small child or suit case or washing). So if you are not as steady on your feet as you used to be, then this is something to consider. Minor issue is that the two arm chairs in the lounge aren't overly comfortable and they are a bit delicate, in that it looks like they might break at any stage. So the cottage is probably best suited to a couple, rather than a family.

Very clean , well equipped cottage, located in a picturesque Cotswold village. The bed linen was of a high quality soft cotton and the mattresses were exceptionally comfortable. A very lovely cottage.

Nice, comfortable cottage in a lovely village. Location great for walks. Just needed somewhere to hang our coats, walking jackets etc downstairs.

A beautiful cosy cottage in a beautiful location, just what I needed to restore myself! I would highly recommend a stay. The only reason why I scored comfort as an 8, was that I would have welcomed some comfortable and squishy chairs/settee in the sitting room.

Good cottage, very clean, excellent shower, comfy beds, two chairs in lounge could have been comfier but Ok for short periods. Problem with the fridge/freezer, the fridge part apparently not working and only just kept cool by the freezer below. Brought to the attention of the owner who was unable to get an engineer out until the day we left. The other issue is the fire alarm in the kitchen is so sensitive that every time you open the oven door the fire alarm goes off. The solution is to take or buy a cheap shower cap to put over he alarm when cooking. Remember though to remove it afterwards! Handy location for several counties and the main section of the Cotswolds.

Second time we’ve stayed st Pear Tree Cottage. Nice welcoming cottage in a great location. Comfy beds and a wood burning stove which was great for colder nights.
