Offering stunning views, this property is ideal for people who wish to enjoy a peaceful holiday break in the Northumbrian countryside.

Nestled perfectly in the Northumberland countryside, Staward is a detached log cabin, adjacent to the owners’ home, and offers a stunning holiday location with views for miles. Perfect for families, friends or couples wishing to enjoy a peaceful romantic break, the cabin has been finished to a very good standard and offers practical facilities, as well as the touches of a private balcony and hot tub. It is well-designed for the less mobile guests too, with the accommodation being on one level with spacious, airy and light rooms. The kitchen and living room are open-plan and have fabulous views that look right across the countryside. It has a double bedroom and also a bedroom with full size twin beds that are comfortable and cosy. The shower room has been well-finished with a large shower cubicle that is also accessible for people with a wheelchair and has a heated towel rail for extra comfort. Staward can also be adapted for disabled access and for guests with any difficulty with mobility.
Situated in the rural village of Catton which lies at the beginning of the East Allen Valley, this log cabin is tucked away down, in a sheltered hollow with fields rising up on both sides, and leads to beautiful heather-covered fells. It is ideal for guests who enjoy walking, rambling, horse riding and cycling, with numerous well-established public footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways that lead straight from the front door and out through the owners’ grounds, leading guests through some of the most picturesque landscapes and scenery that the county has to offer. There is ample opportunity for guests to stable their horses and use the paddock that is directly opposite the property and this can be arranged with prior agreement from the owner. Guests will be able to choose from walks of varying lengths along the river valley, through woodland, fields and open countryside. Visit and explore some of the most popular locations in the area, which include Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland National Park, Kielder Reservoir, Corbridge and Hexham. There are also many opportunities to explore a Roman settlement or discover Roman finds at nearby Vindolanda and Housesteads. The bustling market town of Hexham is only 10 miles away and here, guests will be able to enjoy shopping facilities, pubs, restaurants and bistros. Also, take a trip to the famous Hexham Racecourse for a day at the races or even a historical trip to the abbey. Respite facilities available. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

What an absolutely fantastic hide away! Accommodation was fantastic, location is remote with the most beautiful views. And Helen and Rachel were fantastic, checked all was ok but were never intrusive. An absolutely wonderful place to get away!

Lovely stay in the cabin at Staward. Helen the owner had made sure we had all that we needed. The views from the cabin and hot tub were great as was the weather. The cabin had all the things that we needed included a BBQ. Lovely space for the dog to enjoy in the paddock and a very friendly horse.

My family and I spent a week in a cabin for the first time in our lives. We were celerbrating my grandaughters 21st birthday. We have had breathtaking views. Good walks. The owner Helen and Rachael were great always there when we needed them but also leaving us to holiday. Max our GSD was well at home in the fresh air and with plenty of walks around us but also peace and tranquility You can't believe the stunning views until you see them. The cabin was very cosy. The hot tub was to love all day long and evenings as well. It was good to have a barbeque and a bottle or 2 of wine and not be limmeted to one drink whilst having to drive. The kings head in Allendale is dog freindly and their garlic mushrooms are to die for infact all their food is. The owners are very friendly. We will be back. This holiday will extend into years to come and will be never ending it doesn't matter how many times we come to Catton. Northumberland.

Great place to visit if you want peace and quite, and plenty of walks. Hot tub and cabin were great the cabin had great facilities and well equipped. The crown pub is welcoming and has great home cooked food. Would highly recommend both. Helen the owner came along and introduced herself and is on hand if you have any problems- which we didn't, would definitely go back.

Stayed here for a long weekend with 3 friends. The cabin is beautiful and well equipped with everything we could need. The location is idyllic, the views are just stunning. So peaceful and quiet. Hexham is a short drive away and is a beautiful town. Helen the owner is extremely helpful and stays close by if any help needed. We will definitely be back.

A lovely real lodge, amazing wooden smell as soon as you're inside. Very warm and comfortable, all the kitchen essentials that you could want including a freezer. Nice bedrooms with a double and twin room. Hot tub was great. A lovely host who made us feel very welcome. Was very nice to wake up to picturesque views and feed Ivy the horse. Close to Hadrian's Wall and driveable to the Lake District and Northumberland coast. Great walks locally and further afield and was great to be able to take the dog. The only thing missing was WiFi, which didn't bother us as we were out most of the time but could affect those trying to entertain kids with iPads!
