This property has a fully enclosed lawned garden to the front and rear, and guests also have use of the owners’ six acres of grounds.

Convenient location

Conveniently situated between the market towns of Bungay and Harleston, these attractive properties are set at the edge of the owner’s 6 acre farm, adjacent to the A143. Fishing is available on request at the owner’s 4½-acre fishing lake, a 2-minute walk away (at cost). Park Farmhouse (ref 30235) dates back over 400 years and is a listed building retaining many unique historic features, with some of the timbers dating back 800 years. Originally built for the local mayor, the farmhouse was once the village bakery and the original bread oven is still in the dining room – it then became a riding school. Beamed throughout, with original herringbone brick flooring in the dining room, it has two wood burners and a well-equipped bespoke kitchen with a range cooker.
With separate drive and courtyard gardens, the properties have been converted and furnished to a good standard. There is easy access to the county city of Norwich, seaside resorts at Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and the Norfolk Broads at Beccles. The market towns of Harleston, 3 miles, and Bungay, 4 miles, have a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants and for beer enthusiasts the small independent breweries of Grain, 1 mile, and St Peter’s, 3 miles, are easily accessible. Shops and restaurant 3 miles, pubs 200 yards. Properties 19981 and 30235 can be booked together to accommodate up to 17 guests.

    Had a fantastic stay here with my family for my 60th birthday. House was perfect and we all enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend for a large party. The only reason for the 9 on one of the scores was could have done with an extra toilet but honestly did not spoil the weekend at all.

    The house is lovely with everything you need and plenty of outdoor space to explore the area. The main living area is spacious enough for 14 to sit comfortably either on sofas or around the large finner table. A really friendly host who was nearby to help when we needed it but otherwise left us to it. Ceilings are low but you get used to it!

    On entering the house noticed several laminated instruction on the walls stating what to do and not to do. This was in our opinion not necessary. Dishwasher did not work as it should have done. Cooker only half of if usable. One of the beds propped up by using books.

    I booked this as a family celebration for a special anniversary. Unfortunately we found it difficult to relax in the cottage due to so many dos and don't signs around the place. After having a significant amount taken as security deposit, it soon became clear they should have paid us, as the dishwasher didn't work properly and all the cutlery was filthy. I would say that we left that house in a better state than it was offered and was extremely surprised to have some of our deposit retained by them without any explanation.
