A lovely little cottage with six acres of shared grounds and a fishing lake within walking distance.

Convenient location

Conveniently situated between the market towns of Bungay and Harleston, these attractive properties are set at the edge of the owner’s 6 acre farm, adjacent to the A143. Park Farmhouse (ref 30235) dates back over 400 years and is a listed building retaining many unique historic features, with some of the timbers dating back 800 years. Originally built for the local mayor, the farmhouse was once the village bakery and the original bread oven is still in the dining room – it then became a riding school. Beamed throughout, with original herringbone brick flooring in the dining room, it has two wood burners and a well-equipped bespoke kitchen with a range cooker. Fishing is available on request at the owner’s 4½-acre fishing lake, 2 minutes walk away (at cost). With separate drive and courtyard gardens, the properties have been converted and furnished to a very good standard. There is easy access to the county city of Norwich, seaside resorts at Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and the Norfolk Broads at Beccles. The market towns of Harleston, 3 miles, and Bungay, 4 miles have a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants and for beer enthusiasts the small independent breweries of Grain, 1 mile, and St Peter’s, 3 miles, are easily accessible. Shops and restaurant 3 miles, pubs 200 yards. Properties 19981 and 30235 can be booked together to accommodate up to 17 guests.

All on the ground floor.
Living room/kitchen:
With Freeview TV, breakfast bar, gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and wooden and slate floors.

Comfortable, well-equipped cottage. We hadn't realised it was so close to a busy main road, not really made clear on the website. Not a huge problem, but it was quite noisy which made one less likely to sit in the garden or have the windows open as much as we would otherwise have done. This is a minor gripe as the cottage and owners were both lovely and welcoming, but perhaps the details of the location should make clear just how close to the main road the cottage is located.

O m g this is the worst place i have ever stay in. Windows were dirty Ants every were in the kitchen. We could not lock the cottage door Shower room looked like it had not been cleaned for weeks. The bedding in the bed room was worn and old and dirty. The hot water boiler was not safe it was leaking water, we did not use it because we felt it was unsafe. The wi-fi did not work. The whole place was a building site there was no roof on 2 of the other cottages and the main house had scaffolding up all around it how can you sell holidays to people when the place is in such a bad state. The parking is bad and the noise from the main road keep us awake , i have pictures to show you When you advertise the cottages you should check what you are advertising

Not to far from Norwich which is good for shopping. Mrs Newcombe very welcoming and helpful. Local pub nice but didn't try food. If you have dogs great if not the remaining dog hairs may bug you a little.
