Well equipped clean cottage, however the garden was very disappointing.

We enjoyed our holiday overall, but were disappointed that the front door of the cottage opened straight onto the road, and the garden was unkempt with loose stones on the steps. We left the hob of the cooker much cleaner than we found it, and there was a glass casserole with a dangerously broken handle in the cupboard. It was also frustrating that we were unable to adjust the heating in very changeable weather.

We had a good holiday and the cottage is good, but could be great. Constructive feedback to move from good to great - 1. We had to turn all the single mattresses before they were broadly acceptable 2. Even in August the house was freezing and the owners were in charge of the thermostat from far side of England - we had no mobile phone signal to contact them - felt that we were treated like children 3. All dials on the oven hobs are worn and it caused numerous problems 4. Rubbish was not collected and no recycling facilities existed, despite the guidance.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments, we value customer feedback. We are delighted to hear you had a good holiday. The mattresses are relatively new and we test and replace the mattress’s on a regular basis, when necessary. We have not had negative feedback on the mattress’s prior to this and so we will certainly investigate due to your comments. We are sorry to hear you found the cottage to cold. During the summer months, unlike the winter months, we do not have the heating on upon arrival as majority of guests find this to be to hot given the weather and the season. However you can put the heating on as and when you wish, and so the heating is available to all guests at all times should you require it, we are more than happy for the heating to be in use and do our utmost to assist should this be the case. The hob is only a couple of years old. It is a stainless steel hob and the number’s may have worn with the thorough clean upon every departure however we will look at this and ensure action is taken. The rubbish is taken every 14 days and wheel bins are provided.

We enjoyed staying in this quiet cottage and especially liked the village of Kilgerran with its interesting history. The peaceful garden and outdoor seating area were appreciated on the fine, warm days. We found the downstairs part of the cottage rather dark which was a drawback on rainy days, but there was plenty of light upstairs. We would definitely like to visit Pembrokeshire again, but would prefer to go to the other side of the county now that we have explored the Cardigan area.

The place was damp a d the was an awfully smell of wet dog. I believe cleaning the lounge and stair carpet s is urgently needed. The single bed mattresses were not good enough for adults. Finally there were 21vases of plastic flowers. Time to bin some.

    Response from:
