We enjoyed our holiday, and the cottage was very convenient for Bath and Wells.

Had a great week at Paglinch. It's a beautiful, well equipped cottage in a very peaceful location. It feels remote, there is a pub just a short walk away but no shops. Some of the area around the cottage is due a spruce up but nothing to put you off. The cottage was an excellent base for day trips out and we had no trouble filling every day, Bath, Bristol, Cheddar Gorge, Longleat, Glastonbury and Wells are all just a short drive away and each well worth a visit, but there are also footpaths passing close by the cottage. We would definitely go again.

The cottage had some nice additions hot tub and jacuzzi bath which we took full advantage of. We found the cottage looked tired and needed some work on it. The owner was very pleasant and nothing was to much trouble, the location was a bit far out but maybe we need to improve our research. Overall we enjoyed our stay and did make use of the facilities around us.

I chose Paglinch cottage because it is close to route 24 of the cycle network .Took my bike down to the cottage and had a great week of cycling and walking. Perfect location , beautiful views, peaceful. The hot tub is great at the end of a busy day. 2 tvs huge bed very comfortable. even a jacuzzi bath in the bathroom everything you could possibly want. I gave a 6 for amenities because there are no shops or facilities nearby . The location is very rural down a steep narrow, winding road. If you want to get away from it all in a lovely location this is the place to go .would definitely go back

Excellent few days in Paglinch Cottage. A lovely place, out in the wilds without being isolated. A very friendly and helpful owner who made us feel very welcome. Would definitely return.

although the cottage was very good ,i think area lets it down. most of the farm roads have little passing areas and because they are farm lanes there full of mud. also the local shops are very few and far between, which in my opinion lets the cottage down.

This cottage could have been so nice if the owner had taken note of previous guests comments over the last 2 years relating to the cleanliness and comfort . On arrival the owner opened up the cottage and let us in, all seemed ok but on a closer inspection we noticed that there was lots of thick dust on the units, dvd player, skirting boards, along the hard wood floor and carpet edges, the window frames and curtain plinths, picture frames etc. this was compounded by a large selection of cobwebs all encrusted with lots of dust either around the roof beams in the kitchen or around the fittings/walls. The windows were filthy and I had to clean them inside and outside to see out, this then identifed that some of the double glazed units had blown and were full of condensation so we could not see the view outside from them anyway. The fridge was clean, however the floor beneath it was not as there was a large meat fluids stain on the wood floor. The bedroom had two single 3/4 uncomfortable beds placed together (it was like sleeping in the tardis) and the pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom had not been cleaned and there were personal used shaving items left on the unit tops, the toilet had urine stains on the seat and bowl and the floor had human hair on it as did the bath/shower unit. There was a hot tub available and although we did use it late in the evening, the next day we were concerned as the water looked a little green with stones in the bottom and there was very little chlorine tablets in the dispenser (two very small pieces), I became concerned as to the water quality and did not observe the owners at any time enter the enclosed area to check the water ph levels or to get samples for water fecal coliforms - Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It’s also known that Legionella pneumophila has been known to be transmitted by inhaling water vapor from a contaminated spa which did concern me as I have no idea of the water quality checking process undertaken by the owners. I do not go on holidy to have to clean the cabin to make it fit for us to use and was very concerned in the owners lack of cleaning. we were so dissapointed with the standards afforded to us that we were forced to leave and cut short our holiday. So very dissapointed.

The cottage is located in a very rural location, Shoscombe Vale, with Peasedown St.John 3-4 mins away offering local amenities such as Tesco Express, Co-op, bakery, chippy and kebab/pizza shop. It is also convenient for the Park & Ride to take you into Bath. The park & ride is approx. 5 minutes away depending on morning traffic can take a lot longer. The cottage is in a beautiful quiet setting and with the addition of the hot- tub it is excellent value. Could do with being a little cleaner.
