Owl's Cry was a perfect setting for our stay in Cornwall. It's in a quiet location with lovely walks. The cottage is comfortable and Doug has made sure that you have everything you need. We found plenty of dog friendly places to go which was important to us. Tesco will deliver to the cottage which was great. My only warning is that it's probably not the place to stay if you are tall. The ceiling in the lounge/dining area is quite low. Personally I loved it and would use it again if returning to Cornwall

This was in a good location to do both coastlines and when we visited it was lovely and cool inside in a hot spell. The garden is nice to sit out in. The cottage itself is very quirky and good for a couple and our two dogs. The slight let down is the bathroom. The shower is lovely and powerful but the bathroom is outdated and a little tired. The owner is very friendly and we felt very welcome.

The cottage itself is lovely although a bit remote, you definitely need a car if going out. Very friendly guy who met us on arrival. Our main issue was the cleanliness. The pillows, mattresses, protectors and bedding were terribly stained. Ended up buying sleeping bags to sleep in. On your website it states there was a pond which we never found and the built-in barbecue was a rusty metal one. The bathroom isn't a bathroom and was quite mouldy. The website also says there is two bedrooms but the second bed was under the stairs not in a room, very awkward when someone is asleep and you need to use the shower/toilet. The windows also needed a really good clean. We left a polite note for the owner but had no reply.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments, we value customer feedback. We are delighted to hear you found Owls Cry to be lovely. Rest assured the property is professionally cleaned prior to every guest’s arrival, we take pride in our cleanliness. The bedding, pillows, mattresses and protectors are checked and inspected after ever guests departure, we did complete this inspection thoroughly following your concern and departure and can confirm there was no stains to be found. There is a small pond situated in the garden, as advertised. We provide a free standing BBQ mounted on wheels, this is less than a year old and is in pristine condition. Owls Cry has a shower room with a toilet, please see the property description which does stipulate this, it has been re-grouted in the spring and is thoroughly cleaned following each guest departure.

My wife and I stayed with our dog for the long weekend at this wonderful little cottage. The owner was incredibly welcoming and he even left us a delicious packet of biscuits on the side for our arrival. As far as location goes, you couldn't ask for better, secluded, quiet and beautiful scenery all around. With only a few minutes drive you can be on the north or south coasts which have so much to offer. Hoping to visit again soon.

Lovely little getaway that can only be described as quirky. All the necessities are there. More than anything our dogs were made welcome & I think the accommodation is more furnished with that in mind. The open stairs weren't a problem for my two Jack Russells .. it just meant they took their time ..which made a refreshing change :D A great location if you want a proper get away from it all ..tucked away at the side of the woods. The place was covered with autumnal leaf fall when we were there ....it was stunning. We also heard the whooing of an owl ..which is always magical. Would definitely book again next time we're down that way. Met the proprietor Mr Smith.... welcoming, friendly and unassuming. Would of liked to have met Mrs Smith .....hopefully next time.
