Description

Boasting seven bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities, this large property is a fantastic holiday base for large groups or families to enjoy.

Set within the extensive grounds of a stunning Edwardian house (which now serves as a conference centre), this stylish modern detached house, with its own private entrance, has been designed to a very high specification for a holiday stay and boasts seven bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities. Elegantly furnished and particularly thoughtfully finished, the living room overlooks the orchard and has the added feature of a ‘glass wall’, allowing a wide field of view to be taken in. A large grassed garden is available for sole use, and there are very attractive mature gardens and grounds surrounding the conference centre, which have fine views of the Ochil Hills.
The area immediately surrounding the house is rich in history. Known as Rob Roy and William Wallace Country, there are several places of interest to visit, as well as monuments that played a part in the turbulent stories of the past. Nearby is the beautifully restored Alloa Tower, coming under the care of the NTS, which was the ancestral home of the Earls of Mars for centuries, and which affords fine views of the Forth from its parapet walk. From Castle Campbell, there are magnificent views of the hills beyond and down the glen to Dollar – an affluent town that is home to the respected Academy. Flanked by the rushing streams of the Burn of Sorrow and the Burn of Care, the wooded glen leading up to the castle offers a pleasant walk.
Straddling the River Forth, Stirling (just a 15-minute drive away), has the lofty Wallace Monument, which stands proudly as a tribute to William Wallace. From the top of the tower, views across to Fife and Ben Lomond can be savoured. Stirling’s magnificent castle overlooks the town and historical re-enactments are frequently staged here. Also within easy reach are Edinburgh and Glasgow – both lying within a 40-minute drive. Retail outlet village at Tillicoultry, and activities such as golf, riding, hill walking and fishing all available nearby. Shops 1/2 mile.

Spacious living-room with gas ‘coal-effect’ fire and ‘glass wall’ overlooking orchard. Well-equipped modern kitchen/dining room with patio doors to decking/balcony. Double bedroom with patio doors to garden and en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Two twin bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet, one with en-suite wet room with toilet. First floor: Four bedrooms: Two double, two twin, each with en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. All bedrooms with TV.

House very dusty and dirty in lots of respects, e.g oven disgusting, bathroom in forth bedroom had encrusted faeces, bin not emptied in Allen bedroom, full of bloodied paper tissues. Plugs jammed in eden bedroom called to report, man came but not fixed. All report to Elaine at Gean house.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We were very disappointed to hear that the Lodge had not been properly clean for the arrival of this customer. We have now broached the matter with our contracted cleaners who have accepted responsibility and assured us that they have now put a monitoring process in place to ensure that inexperienced cleaners are not left on their own in our property. We have been assured that this will not happen again and we ask that any visitors report any issues to us immediately, as we understand that this standard is not acceptable and will be improved.

This is the 2nd time we’ve been at this house, again it was to a high standard, the only thing missing was if there was recycling available and the dishwasher was not working properly

Beautiful house, and great location as lots to do round about if you don't want to travel too far. We holiday every year as a family, and this was a first that had showers/baths in every room, what a bonus. And the living room and kitchen were well equipped seating wise, and everywhere was lovely and warm. We went bowling, great shopping not far away, and the "Escape Room" challenge among other things. On way home, spent the day at a retail park, so no shortage of things for all ages.

We have been at Orchard Lodge twice. We booked it for a large family gathering and it's perfect. Espicially every bedroom having an en-suite. We're actually booked up for another trip in 2018. The house is clean, comfortable and big enough that you don't feel like you're tripping over each other. Could not recommend it high enough.
