Orchard Leigh is in an ideal location for those who wish to have the benefits of city life whilst being able to explore the Lake District and the surrounding countryside.

Set just 1½ miles from the city centre and less than a mile to the M6, Orchard Leigh is ideal for those who want the benefits of city life, while still being able to travel and the Lake District and the Scottish Borders. Comfortably furnished to a very good standard, with all the contemporary luxuries you would expect, this delightful semi-detached cottage is ideal for families or groups of friends. With a fully enclosed yard and a wealth of children’s toys it is ideal for those young families wanting to make happy memories in a different city. Wood Street is one of the oldest areas in Carlisle, once a separate village which was brought into the city’s boundary as it expanded. Carlisle is home to the most besieged castle in the country, playing host to many disputes of where the Scottish-English border should lie over its 900 year history. Just over the road from the castle is Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, which holds a wide range of exhibitions. Heading back into the city centre you will pass Carlisle Cathedral, one of the smallest cathedrals in England, but no less impressive! After you have explored the history of the great border city there are restaurants and bars for all tastes. Just a short drive away (or bus journey, since there is a main bus stop just a minute away from the house), there are many areas of outstanding beauty, stunning scenery and an abundance of British history. You can visit Hadrian’s Wall or the popular Lake District, where you can walk for miles enjoying stunning scenery. Shop 175 yards, pub 265 yards and restaurant ½ mile.

We really enjoyed our first holiday in Carlisle. Excellent accommodation, very comfortable, 3 bedrooms, large bathroom, 2 large rooms ground floor, secure off-road parking, on bus route to centre, easy to locate from M6. We met owner, very helpful, professional , friendly, welcoming approach; sorted minor issue very quickly. Thank you. We've already recommended property to family.

What a lovely cottage! Made our stay very home away from home, relaxing and comfortable. Everything we could have needed for a lovely little weekend away. We had a lovely walk into Carlisle Center one evening but there’s a bus stop at the top of the road. There’s a large Tesco close by too. Great stay. Thank you :)
