A charming holiday property that is well suited to small families and couples looking to explore the Devon area.

A charming red-brick holiday cottage built in the 1920’s, this property has quite a contemporary interior with a little enclosed lawn garden to the front. Located in the village of Woodbury Salterton, the lovely thatched village pub is within walking distance of 120 yards. Woodbury Salterton is a pretty rural village just a few miles from Westpoint, where many shows and exhibitions are held, and midway between the historic city of Exeter and the beaches and coast at Exmouth. Exmouth is known as the gateway to the Jurassic Coast and the Exe cycle trail which follows the estuary to Starcross. This is a lovely cottage for couples and small families at any time of the year. With its lovely woodburner, making it a cosy retreat for spring and autumn breaks, as well as summer holidays with the children. This is an ideal base for exploring east Devon, there is plenty to do and see in this beautiful region. Shop 1 mile, pub 120 yards and restaurant 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining area. Kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 twin. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine and freezer in outbuilding. Dishwasher. Enclosed lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). No smoking.

A very comfortable beautifully appointed cottage in a quiet village very close to the Diggers Rest which is worth a visit. The cottage is equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay and is very tastefully decorated.

The WIFi and a part of light in the bathroom didn't work. Everything else was perfect!

The cottage was incredible. It was lovely and cosy, nice to have milk in the fridge and cookies on the side! Clean throughout, impressive decor, nice little fire. The parking was a bit tight for our Evoque, but managed to fit in! There was building work next door but this didn't bother us in the slightest. The *only* thing I would have liked is a high chair! But not a major inconvenience :)

Enjoyed our stay at Parkhayes very much, pitty no broadband as the mobile signal is almost none existant. The only concern i would have is the front door lock needs attending to as it's very difficult to unlock and as this is the only exit, in the event of a fire it could take several valuable minutes to open the front door to safty.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments, in response we have now installed wifi. We are sorry you experienced a problem with the door whilst you were here, but what a shame you didn’t tell us as it only needed oiling and was easily fixed which would have taken away your difficulties.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. It was comfortable, warm and in lovely decorative order. The only thing I'd say is that the double bed is extremely squeaky! The parking is right outside the cottage. We have a Citroen C4 and the space was fine. We didn't try the local pub The Diggers Rest but it's very near by. There are food shops around but you'd need to drivei them. There's a big Tesco and Sainsbury's not too far and a smaller co-op that's closer. We had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property!

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your kind comments, we have now replaced the metal bed frame with a wooden one so hopefully no more squeaking.
