A charming holiday property that is well suited to small families and couples looking to explore the Devon area.

A charming red-brick holiday cottage built in the 1920’s, this property has quite a contemporary interior with a little enclosed lawn garden to the front. Located in the village of Woodbury Salterton, the lovely thatched village pub is within walking distance of 120 yards. Woodbury Salterton is a pretty rural village just a few miles from Westpoint, where many shows and exhibitions are held, and midway between the historic city of Exeter and the beaches and coast at Exmouth. Exmouth is known as the gateway to the Jurassic Coast and the Exe cycle trail which follows the estuary to Starcross. This is a lovely cottage for couples and small families at any time of the year. With its lovely woodburner, making it a cosy retreat for spring and autumn breaks, as well as summer holidays with the children. This is an ideal base for exploring east Devon, there is plenty to do and see in this beautiful region. Shop 1 mile, pub 120 yards and restaurant 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining area. Kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 twin. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine and freezer in outbuilding. Dishwasher. Enclosed lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). No smoking.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. It was comfortable, warm and in lovely decorative order. The only thing I'd say is that the double bed is extremely squeaky! The parking is right outside the cottage. We have a Citroen C4 and the space was fine. We didn't try the local pub The Diggers Rest but it's very near by. There are food shops around but you'd need to drivei them. There's a big Tesco and Sainsbury's not too far and a smaller co-op that's closer. We had a fantastic holiday and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property!

Good location for visiting several places in Devon. several routes and very handy for the West Point centre for exhibitions. Quiet road and so close to local pub for good atmosphere and food.

We had a relaxing week in this well equipped cottage. Very clean and additional extras like dishwashing tablets etc much appreciated. We did find the double bed very hard, but obviously it is personal taste. Building works next door were not an issue for us as no heavy machinery, just a minor inconvenience when negotiating path to utility store around the back of the property. But obviously this is temporary and we were out every day anyway. Lack of wifi not a deal breaker for us, however we also had bad phone reception too (O2) which was frustrating to plan next days activities etc. But overall a lovely quality cottage and a great base to explore the surroundings.

the cottage itself is lovely, spotlessly clean, beautiful bathroom (though it needs a shaving socket for the men) the lean to with the washing machine is pretty grotty and needs complete revamp. i suggest a washer/drier be installed the location was too remote for us, very narrow roads with overgrown hedgerows made walking impossible, having to drive to local shop a nuisance too local pub The Diggers Rest charming, food good Pub/restaurant in local village equally good (7 minute drive) unfortunately for us the neighbouring house is undergoing massive renovations, building works using heavy machinery started at 7.30 every morning, this work will continue until December 2017 no WIFI in the house no WIFI in local pub a bit of a nuisance as we had booked a two week stay we left a day early thank you for the opportunity to voice our experience i will use your service again but will be more definite about my needs

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your positive comments about One Parkhayes, but we are sorry the location wasn’t suited to your needs. Our property has never been advertised as having Wi-Fi. It was unfortunate the building work started during your 2 week stay, but we were unaware of the start date as we would have informed you.
