Description

Discover this amazing area of Scotland with beaches, lochs, mountains and glens all waiting to be explored.

A warm Highland welcome awaits you at Oldtown of Leys Farmhouse. Set within an acre of mature secluded grounds, this beautifully presented house is both the perfect luxurious retreat and a perfectly positioned getaway from which to explore the many treasures of the Highlands and its capital, Inverness. With a rich history, lively cultural scene, outstanding sports opportunities and spectacular scenery, this wonderful region has attractions and amenities to suit every age and taste. Inverness offers great shopping and dining, a theatre and arts complex, cinemas, gardens, river walks and a castle dating back to the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745. Further afield, the countryside is peppered with picturesque towns such as Beauly and Strathpeffer, and historic places of interest such as Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Cawdor and Brodie Castles, and Thomas Telford’s Caledonian Canal. To the south you can search for the elusive monster at Loch Ness and cruise on its deep waters. Set in the deep forested recess of the Great Glen, the area is a magnet for water sport enthusiasts, walkers and wildlife lovers who come to see the red deer, ospreys, eagles, red squirrels and the reclusive pine marten. Set on the magnificent Moray First which has been voted in the top 20 of the world’s best coastal destinations, Nairn is a Victorian seaside resort full of fun and adventure for children and adults alike. An old fashioned promenade, perfect white sandy beach and the prospect of spotting the famous bottlenose dolphins of the Moray Firth, along with a championship golf course and forest trails for cycling and walking, provide plenty of choices for outdoor entertainment. Further afield you can take a trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye or the Orkney Islands, both well worth the stunningly scenic journey. The property also boasts a comfortable pet basket, so you don’t have to leave your furry friend at home. Beach 11 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
