I recruited this cottage as it is beautifully presented and comfortable and is in an ideal location for exploring local attractions.

Old Tannery Cottage is a tastefully converted tannery building located within the village of Thornhill. This end-terrace property is decorated and finished to a very good standard, sleeps four guests and has the added benefit of en-suite bedrooms. There is off street parking to the rear for two cars. There is a warm welcome waiting for you at Old Tannery Cottage from the owners who live next door. This is an ideal location to explore Drumlanrig Castle and Estate where you can fish for salmon, enjoy a stroll through some of the beautiful walks and gardens, and the more adventurous can try mountain biking. Or why not just visit the castle itself on a guided tour? This beautiful corner of south west Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway, has so much to offer from walking and cycling to fishing. Alternatively, enjoy a day exploring the many beautiful beaches along the Solway Coast. Try the region’s fantastic 9 and 18 hole golf courses set amid stunning scenery. Enjoy the delights of the Galloway Forest Park, which not only has some stunning scenery, but is also the UK’s first Dark Sky Park where over 7000 stars and planets are visible to the naked eye on a clear day. Shop 200 yards, pub 100 yards and restaurant 150 yards.
