We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old School. It was very comfortable, well stocked and clean and spacious. John the owner was pleasant and on hand if we needed anything. The WiFi worked well. We enjoyed watching the birds feeding on the bird feeder especially the Woodpecker. We were also near enough the Ferry Port to enjoy a day out in Belfast. The local town of Stranraer had all the amenities you needed and the gardens of Castle Kennedy were exceptional. I would thoroughly recommend the Old School if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this area.

Very comfortable, well-equipped and clean cottage. Welcoming hosts with lots of useful local information. Lovely garden and space to walk our dog. Excellent road links to nearby coastal attractions. We would stay again sometime.

The cottage was lovely. The only thing we didn't like was that the windows were so high up (it was a school after all) leaving the only view we had was of the yard outside the cottage and main house. As the cottage is at the junction for the road to Cairnryan ferry terminal there was a lot of noise from passing lorries. Other than that though it is a very clean and well decorated cottage and the owners were lovely. They even supplied a little breakfast 'starter kit' of bread, milk, jam etc.

The Old School was modern and spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating in the lounge and on-suite facilities in each of the 3 bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of room for the four of us to sit and eat a meal at the dining table. For me the use of wi-fi access to the Internet at a good speed was an added bonus with my Macbook Pro and ipads all performing well.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The layout is perfect for theee generations to stay there. Our welcome pack and fire made us very comfortable. The cottage is on a junction of the main route to the Oort and traffic can be heard at times but this did not take away for our enjoyment.
