There were 4 adults and a dog for our holiday and we all had plenty of room at the cottage. 1 person struggles with stairs so the downstairs bedroom, shower and bathroom were ideal. Garden was lovely and secure for our dog. Well equipped kitchen with 2 large fridges and dishwasher. Bude, Tintagel, Boscastle nearby. About an hour and half to Mount St Michael. The only thing that let it down was cobwebs and no shops or pubs within walking distance really. There was a plumbing issue during our stay and the owner was round within the hour to fix it, customer service amazing.

Overall pretty good, minor niggles, no mirrors for shaving or shaver plug, hot tap in downstairs bathroom noisy. The wet room although handy being on ground floor was not really fit for the older generation, nowhere to put clothing & stone step slippery when wet. Being 7 of use not enough comfy seating in lounge to be together.

I was a bit apprehensive upon arriving at the Old Post Office Cottage because of the negative reviews I read beforehand but we found the cottage to be clean, well furnished and equipped and very cosy. There was ample space for 4 adults and 4 children plus our small dog. We did have to drive to different places every day but we had checked the location of the cottage on the map and it wasn't a problem. Would definitely go back again

The Cottage was quaint and nicely furnished but not that clean. Washing machine in cottage but no-where to dry washing. The washing line was under a horse chestnut tree in a dark and gloomy garden. I had to drape the washing over the patio furniture to dry under the dirty patio canopy and then finish it off in the parcel shelf of the cars. (we had to wash the patio furniture first). Drying washing with 5 children was a nightmare as it took 3 days to do so and I washed laundry twice a day. in addition there was an over normal amount of 3" wide spiders in the lounge which upset the children. A perfectly sited washing line in the sun and a good clean would have made a big difference

Pros - lovely location in pretty village. Nice pub but a mile and half away along a narrow country road so not walkable but offers good meals. The cottage is well equipped with plenty of cutlery & crockery. There were 2 fridges and a freezer. A nice touch was milk in the fridge and flowers on the table. The owner was really friendly and came as soon as I reported a problem. The cottage is in a good location so most attractions were accessible for a day out. Cons- the towels supplied were quite thin and only one bath & hand towel to last the duration of our stay. The beds were really uncomfortable and need replacing. The children's beds squeaked so much they had to have the mattress on the floor. The cottage was generally clean but could do with a thorough clean as cobwebs on the lights and windows that had been there for some time by the looks of it. I also found a pair of underpants that had been left in the shower room. The cottage did feel damp on arrival but after opening the windows it soon got aired out. I would not recommend anyone with asthma or a phobia of spiders to stay at this cottage.

This cottage has the potential to be a beautiful property but unfortunately the cottage is very tired the beds and bed linen and towels need replacing the 2 pull out beds are so uncomfortable that my son and partner could not sleep on them and had to sleep on a blowup bed that we had with us. the cooker was very dirty had to go and get oven cleaner and a bulb for the oven the kitchen pots and pans were very old and did not look very hygienic. one of our main concerns was the safety aspect the front door is locked with no key when we arrived none of the smoke detectors worked we did get one to work as someone had removed the battery and replaced it the wrong way around. we did take our dog with us and tried to use the hoover to find it was held together with tape and did not work very well the carpets are also very old and tired and to be charged £25 pound for extra cleaning we thought was a bit of a cheek. There is a problem with water hammer did not worry me too much but frightened the life out of my grandchildren so when they were in bed we could not use hot water in the bathroom. There were a few good points there is a dishwasher washing machine 2 fridges and freezer, we are sorry to have to put in such a bad review having meet the owner and cleaner who were both very nice people
