Great base for a break with the added extra of a train station nearby, with the line running by the house. The train line never caused any issues and our grand daughter loved the driver tooting the train horn when passing. I would recommend this to a family who are looking for a central Devon base. The property is better equipped than described with two en-suites a shower room as well as a family bathroom. The property also has a sofa bed and could sleep 8, we spent the majority of our time in the kitchen diner upstairs with ample space for 6 and a toddler and we never felt cramped. The location is very quite about a mile up a single track lane with move trains passing than vehicles, this was a great and when spending time in the rear garden you could enjoy the peace and quiet. The views from the property were amazing, there were also some lovely villages nearby, with South Malton and Barnstaple both reachable within 15 minutes. The coast was no more than 25 minutes from the property, we also took a train journey to Torquay and enjoyed the picturesque views. If you are looking for a quiet location close to main routes look no further, the hosts were great and the welcome pack was very much appreciated.

Amazing cottage, huge! Quiet, out the way, the only thing I did not realize is it is next to a railway. BUT trains were 2-3 coaches long, slow and quiet, the kids waved each time we saw one, didn't even notice it was there so don't be put off! If you Fly fish, and a few of you can rent the cottage between you it would be a fishing trip to remember. The local pub the rising sun hotel serves excellent food.

We had a wonderful time at this peaceful, cosy property. The garden was beautiful, the space and rooms cosy with lots of space and comfort. We loved it and were sad to leave. The location was stunning and bird life special.
