The size of the house and the fact it has great parking was the winner. A few things to improve would make it better. It wasn't spotlessly clean and it's looking quite tired in places. Kitchen cabinets looked tatty, no front on the dishwasher and the Aga is a pain. It wasn't lit and cooking for 8 people on two electric hobs wasn't ideal. Knowing Mary Berry was the previous owner is fun but I think she'd be surprised to see it now. Also a welcome tray or flowers would have been a nice touch, it seems the owners have lost some energy or love for the property.

A beautiful, well appointed, home from home. Spacious and comfortable with great outdoor spaces for sitting and eating. Quiet residential setting with partial views from the house to the estuary and countryside beyond. Double garage a real bonus. Those with reduced mobility may find the steps up from the garage/street to the front door an issue. The only negative is the very steep inclines from Salcome town centre to the property, but we overcame this by a fit member of our party walking up to the property and bringing the car down at the end of the day (parking is limited in the town centre).
