No.2 Old Hall Cottage was originally the stables at The Old Hall. Byers Green is situated within 15 minutes’ drive of both the historic city of Durham with its mainline rail link, and Bishop Auckland, home of the Prince Bishops at Auckland Castle. This stone built holiday property has expansive garden views looking towards Weardale. The site has no through traffic and is a rich haven for birds and wildlife, with country walks from the door, fishing on the River Wear (permits available) and cycle tracks. This is the gateway to the Durham Dales, Weardale and Teesdale, with splendour at Raby Castle and Bowes Museum, industrial heritage at Killhope, Beamish and Shildon. Visit Keilder Water, Hadrians Wall, the Northumberland Coast and the Lake District. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

    Lovely cottage. Comfortable lounge area upstairs, nice kitchen and dining area downstairs. All fully equipped with everything you could need, including WiFi. Parking and lovely garden areas surrounding. Perfect place for a getaway with the family. Would definitely return.

    Really enjoyed our stay, cottage was well equipped with some lovely goodies waiting for us. Spennymoor has good amenities,not much in Byers green. Would definitely return :)

    I stayed at this cottage with a friend and our dogs. Amazing walks on the doorstep and dogs rarely had to be on a lead. Hosts were fantastic and very accommodating. Would definitely book again.
