Carefully restored, it combines original features with exposed stonework and pine floors, creating a spacious comfortable home in which to relax. A pretty stream with waterfalls runs through the village together with an ancient bridge. The bustling market town of Hawes is a 10-minute walk where you will find the Dales Centre Museum and Creamery, home to Wallace and Gromit’s favourite cheese. Nearby Semerwater, which is a large natural lake, provides a wealth of water activities such as swimming, fishing and sailing. There is a varied selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in Hawes. Shop 1 mile, pub 10 minutes’ walk.

    The Old Hall is hardly a cottage, built in 1695, it is a fascinating, roomy house which we loved.

    Well equipped & spacious property. Really appreciated the heating being left on at no extra cost even though it was June. The property was good value, bit dusty & cobwebby in areas but main areas clean & tidy. We felt the price reflected this. Felt comfortable taking our large hairy dog.

    perfect for a family getaway. Grandchildren loved the space and being able to run around. Some update required in bathrooms ie: taps not working and showers not vey hot but what can you expect in listed building. bedrooms very clean and comfortable, excellently equipped kitchen. Absolutely loved it overall. Would definitely recommend it for a group of people, then its very good value for money. Very warm and comfortable.

    Lovely cottage but could have been cleaner. There was a lot of dog hair on the rugs more so in the kitchen, could do with a good deep clean. The crockery is well loved and mugs chipped, the washing machine drawer had been left very soiled. Outside front porch could do with a light for winter holiday as very dark when returning home. Lights fused upstairs and instructions did not tell you where to find the attic key was kept. These are not complaints but would make other holiday makers stay more enjoyable. On the whole a good week in a warm cottage. Be prepared to leave your vehicle away from the cottage a pain with children and walking gear.
