Boasting good walking on the Pennine Way just 100 yards from the door. Fishing locally, as well as climbing and bird watching, there is plenty to enjoy in the immediate area. With an RSPB reserve and an SSSI both nearby, at Talkin Tarn, 6 miles, there is boating, fishing, sail boarding and a nature trail. A fine base for the Eden Valley, Lake District and Borders and for exploring Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall. Shop and pub 3 miles.

    Loved the cottage and the local people were lovely. Great walks. Only stayed two nights. Personally it was a bit small but loved the place.

    A lovely cottage with friendly owners next door good for walks and sightseeing the only down side is that you need a car in poor weather as it's remote

    very nice cottage away from it all with walks from the door. electric blanket a wonderful extra as it was little beast from the east whilst we were there , bed also very comfortable.
