A rustic property which shows some age. It is part of an 1888 chapel. The shower performed poorly and some of the kitchen equipment was showing its age in that one of the two functional knives actually had had the tip missing which I wasn't sure if it happened whilst using it but it this wasn't the case fortunately. The owner was very welcoming and the visitors book was very complimentary from previous visitors a number of which advised they would look to return.

Cosy cottage, wonderful location. Garden was great for the dogs. Only slight niggles were the very soft mattress ( we prefer a firmer one), and the shower, which we seemed to struggle to conquer!

The cottage was really easy to find and the owner was there to greet us. Friendly and helpful. The cottage itself was exactly what we wanted. It was private and cosy. We would definitely recommend and we would stay there again if we were ever in the area. It was also very reasonably priced.

Pluses: one level, modern TV, good shower, dog-friendly, enclosed garden, non-interfering owners next door. Minuses: uncomfortable seating, sagging bed, little surface space in kitchen, dusty shelves, cobwebs, general feeling of being un-loved. The hamlet of Tindale was of interest because of its industrial past but it is not particularly attractive and has no shop, pub or other amenities. There are walks from the cottage. It is about 15 minutes drive from Hadrian’s Wall.

Loved the cottage and the local people were lovely. Great walks. Only stayed two nights. Personally it was a bit small but loved the place.
