Our Hosts Julie & Josh made us feel very welcome even to the extent of loaning their own personal BBQ for a small party we arranged. If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful part of Devon but reasonably accessible to all amenities this is a good place to stay. The cottage was nice and clean and well resourced. The freshly baked scones, jam & milk were a nice personal touch and very welcome.

Nice cottage with a little fenced garden which is useful for younger kids, perfectly situated for Dartmoor an South Hams. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. We had a splendid time.

Had a lovely relaxing week in Oaklands. Plenty of places to visit nearby; Saltram House, Badgers holt tearooms, Launceston to name a few.

Lovely place in an idyllic setting on the edge of Dartmoor. The owners are very welcoming and friendly without being intrusive at all, but at the same time happy to help with any questions you might have. My wife and I have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages, and this is one of the cleanest and most homely we have been to. An unexpected bonus is the entertainment provided by the troupes of roaming Guinea Fowl who seem to have been trained for the purpose ! We are looking forward to our next visit - recommended.

Oaklands cottage is very comfortable and well equipped but it is quite a long way from the main road along very narrow country lanes. We found the heating inadequate at first but after the owner put on a storage heater it was adequate but not comfortable in all rooms e.g. bathroom. We felt it was rather expensive for the facilities offered.

Absolutely fabulous. Perfect location, perfect hosts, and a wonderful cottage full of old world charm. We plan to return very soon.
