we found the lodge very uncomfortable the bed was hard, the settee also. the towel rail didnt work the tumble dryer was out of order so wet towels all week. The sink was blocked in the bathroom.Didnt think it was dog friendly due to there being a public footpath right outside the front door also having to go outside at night to let dogs into side garden. It may suit someone for one or two nights but not any longer,we left two days early just so we could have a nights sleep. It was a real disappointment as it was our first time in northumberland,we will return but not to this cottage.

Disappointing, the standard of cleanliness was poor with black mould around the bath sealant, scum on the shower screen seal. The window frames in both the bedroom and lounge were dirty and had mould on them. The blinds were dirty downstairs. The microwave has rust on the inside and freezer was unclean, chipped crockery. Paint etc stored under the stairs(which is open) As has been mentioned in other reviews no Wi-Fi, which although not advertised is pretty much a given in 2021. The bed was incredibly firm and uncomfortable.

The property is in a good location. It is in a central place for visiting nearby locations. Round the corner is a very good pub and there is a local shop in the village but there is nothing else around apart from Otterburn Mill which is approximately a 10 minute walk which sells clothes and footwear . I do need to say that the bed in the property is extremely uncomfortable. The mattress is very hard . I would also recommend bringing your own towels as the ones in the property are thin and small . We had a good break here but I wouldn’t stay in this cottage again .
