Oak Lodge provides a quiet and tranquil setting, an ideal rural retreat accommodating up to 4 guests.

Set in the owner’s extensive landscaped and natural wooded grounds this semi-detached property has all you need for a peaceful Cornish holiday. Situated between Lostwithiel and Lerryn on a quiet country lane the lodge provides a tranquil setting but is close to the town and village for dining out, and Lostwithiel boasts many award-winning pubs that pride themselves on local produce and local ales. There is also a castle, woodland walks and a beautiful stretch of the River Fowey which cuts through the middle of the town as it meanders down to the sea. Lostwithiel is the centre of Cornwall’s antique industry and a thriving business has grown around it with many antique, craft, and gift shops lining the streets next to delis, cafes and fine dining restaurants.
Lanhydrock house, a large National Trust House and grounds, is minutes away and has many off road cycle and walking trails to suit all abilities. The village of Lerryn with a local pub, kayak hire and river walks was the inspiration for Kenneth Graham’s ’Wind in the Willows’ and as you cross the ancient stepping stones and idle your way down the river, you can see why. The Eden Project and many famous gardens are close by, as are Fowey, Polperro, Looe, Padstow and Bodmin Moor. Horse riding, sailing, fishing and boat trips are all available close by. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

2 steps to entrance. All on ground floor: Living/dining room with French doors. Kitchen with breakfast area. 2 double bedrooms (one 5ft). Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Gas central heating (winter only), electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot and high chair on request. Two Freeview smart TVs (one 32", one 24"). iPod dock. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Large decked area with furniture. Shared 2 acres of natural woodland grounds. Gas barbecue. Parking (2 cars). Natural water supply from well. No smoking.

A well equipped, well kept cottage, which was warm and comfortable. Owners very pleasant and helpful, with two delightful dogs. Milk and eggs, biscuits and coffee were a nice touch. The only slight difficulty we encountered was that the shower screen was a little short and not very wide, so had to be very careful not to shower the room as well as ourselves. We would definitely return if the opportunity arises.

Perfect is the only way to describe this cottage. Lovely owners who take pride in their property. The location is great for seeing all of what Cornwall has to offer and when you get back Lostwithiel has plenty of eateries on offer

We had a wonderful holiday in Cornwall staying at the Oak Lodge! The cottage itself, although attached the owners own beautiful home, is completely private and self contained. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and everything you could possibly need was supplied. I am certain even if there was anything else we had needed, Ann and Martin would have been more than happy to oblige. The secure garden was perfect for our cockapoo Ziggy who had a great time and even got to play with the owners lovely dogs too! The picture perfect town of Lostwithiel is just a short drive and there is a very well stocked Co-op as well as cafes, pubs and local shops. Lerryn is a very small pretty village, also a short drive the other way with a little shop selling essentials plus the Ship Inn serving good food and ales. It was a great location for exploring Cornwall and we managed to cram a lot into our week. Returning to Oak Lodge after a long day enjoying this beautiful county, felt like coming home. It was perfect in every way and I would thoroughly recommend it - should you be lucky enough to secure it that is!
