Set in the owner’s extensive landscaped and natural wooded grounds this semi-detached property has all you need for a peaceful Cornish holiday. Situated between Lostwithiel and Lerryn on a quiet country lane, the lodge provides a tranquil setting but is close to the town and village for dining out, and Lostwithiel boasts many award-winning pubs that pride themselves on local produce and local ales. There is also a castle, woodland walks and a beautiful stretch of the River Fowey which cuts through the middle of the town as it meanders down to the sea. Lostwithiel is the centre of Cornwall’s antique industry and a thriving business has grown around it with many antique, craft, and gift shops lining the streets next to delis, cafés and fine dining restaurants.
Lanhydrock House, a large National Trust house and grounds, is minutes away and has many off road cycle and walking trails to suit all abilities. The village of Lerryn with a local pub, kayak hire and river walks was the inspiration for Kenneth Graham’s ’Wind in the Willows’ and as you cross the ancient stepping stones and idle your way down the river, you can see why. The Eden Project and many famous gardens are close by, as are Fowey, Polperro, Looe, Padstow and Bodmin Moor. Horse riding, sailing, fishing and boat trips are all available close by. Beach 7¼ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Honestly amazing property for a holiday, perfectly gated. Wonderful beds and linen, home from home kitchen with all mod cons and more, even a lemon juicer! Excellent hosts Martin and Ann who are really helpful and accommodating Only one complaint holiday went too fast! Highly recommended

Wonderfully tranquil location & comfortable house. A large garden with plenty of wildlife to watch. A home from home just far enough out of the way but close to amenities and easy access to the rest of Cornwall.

Beautiful Annex but this is not a lodge. Wrong description entirely. The Annex is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and the welcome basket and flowers were a lovely touch, however the Annex is attached to the landlords home, so we were not able to fully relax. The exercise area for your dog is beautiful, however you are not permitted to let the dog off the lead. On collecting the key, we were surprised that the landlord did not know we were bringing a dog, despite paying £30.00 for the privilege to do so, as they were minding a relations dogs as well as having their own. So barking dogs set off our own 9 month old dog. Most nights we could hear the landlords tv or radio or something was going until late at night, in our bedroom, (the first of the bedrooms off the kitchen) and as the walls were thin we felt they could possibly here us. One night they entertained guests, which is great for them, but not so great when you are trying to sleep. We did not mention this to the landlord, I know we should have done, but we were so tiered, we just wanted to leave, I was glad to get home to be honest. The other downside, although understandably your dog is not permitted on the bed, it is also not allowed on other furnishings, so we rolled the carpet back most nights so he had somewhere he could relax. We did what the sign said in hovering and cleaning up after our dog, but we could have stayed at home for this. Overall although the Annex was beautiful, had we known it was an Annex we would have not booked it, as we always book lodges which are detached.
